PETER Whittingham wants to make it clear – he has only been booked three times this season.
Unofficial records suggest Whitts has been cautioned four times and that would put him one away from suspension.
“The records are wrong – I’m on three bookings,” says Whitts. “That’s two away from suspension – and in three matches they are wiped out.”
The cut-off is December 31 after which players will no longer be suspended for five yellow cards.
Anybody reaching 10 would face a ban, but Whittingham is some way from that mark.
“Some records say I was booked against Peterborough, but I wasn’t,” he says. “The official club records show I am on three – and I agree with that.”
Whittingham has been cautioned against Brighton, Reading and Nottingham Forest.
