IS WHITTS SPEAKING OUT?

Sat Dec 17, 2011 10:04 am

“Unless Cardiff are looking to get rid of me, then I’m remaining right here."

Before the jokers jump on me I am only kidding

But it does seem to put the dampeners on those who have been claiming a move to the Jacks is a 'done deal'.

Whitts also said “It is flattering to be linked with other clubs because it shows you are doing something right, but I am happy playing for this club. I have always said I want to be with Cardiff and help this club into the Premier League. Nothing has changed.”

We need to keep hold of Whitts no matter what, he is arguably the best player in the Championship and if we wish to have any chance of success this season then it is imperative we keep hold of him.

Carl, Whitts is a very important and integral player to us in so many ways. When he is playing well the team seem to be invincible, I think Malky has really built his team around this guy, We MUST hold on to Whitts no matter what happens.
I remember not so long ago there were some people on here saying they would drive him to his next club    so fickle some folk.

Although he seems a quiet fella, he really shows his passion in interviews, he could've easily let his contract run down and get a move to the PL (ala Bothroyd) but he didnt, he signed a contract and pledged to get us to the PL..... He's proberly the best player ive seen for the City

How is this speaking out?

Isn't it just a stock footballer statement.

I AIN'T GOING ANYWHERE UNLESS THEY WANT ME TO GO.

I've heard a few footballers saying the same on Talksport this season.

I can see how it can be read negatively but it would be out iby now f they were touting him

I think if we let whitts go, it would undermine everything malky has done here. In his first week with us, malky said he would build a team around him" and he kept his word, so the thought of him going is unthinkable. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Whitts is just trying to answer the bulk standard bullshit questions put to him by Mediawales, and Tucker in particular, who would like nothing more than City selling Whitts. I have absolutely no doubt as far as Cardiff are concerned he is here for the next 3 years, Whitts feels the same, but if a big money offer came in for him could we afford to say no. Every player has a price.

The worse thing about the interview yesterday was Tucker suggesting that Whitts playing a deeper role was affecting his goalscoring and was that a problem. Well the facts suggest that although Whitts does play deeper this season he is still our top goalscorer and has had more shots on goal and hit the woodwork more often than any player in the Championship. Not bad for a player with the holding midfield role, but is he actually playing a holding role or just sitting deeper so he is controlling our play more?

We all know how important Whitts is to us and I think he is getting better with age but if the big money offer does come in can we really afford to say no to it. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

few things right guys, clearly after reading several posts made by carl, the board wont dip their hand in they pocket as deep as the previous season, and i firmly believe that the board might see a offer of around £3.5m and say, yes go on then, here we go malky theres £500k for you.

how many times have players said "im happy at cardiff, i dont want to leave" and then jumped at the chance.

sorry guys but i will be happy when we are in the prem
