CARDIFF V MIDDLESBROUGH FACTS

Fri Dec 16, 2011 11:44 pm

Head-to-head

• Middlesbrough did the double over the Bluebirds without conceding a goal last season.

• There has never been a goalless draw between these clubs in Cardiff.

Cardiff City

• Third-placed Cardiff are unbeaten in nine Championship games (W6, D3), and top the Championship's form table.

• Malky Mackay's side have won their last four league matches at the Cardiff City Stadium. Their 23 points from 10 games at home is topped only by Southampton's 31 from 11 outings.

Middlesbrough

• Middlesbrough lie immediately below Cardiff on goal difference, with 38 points after 21 games - their best return for 14 years.

• Tony Mowbray's side are vying for a third successive win and clean sheet. They own the Championship's best defence and have kept an unequalled 10 clean sheets.

Team News
Cardiff welcome back Aron Gunnarsson (dead leg) and Anthony Gerrard (hamstring) after missing last week's draw with Millwall.

Filip Kiss (ankle) has also been passed fit after picking up an ankle injury last Saturday at the New Den.

Middlesbrough will be without defender Tony McMahon, who serves a suspension for collecting five yellow cards.

Marvin Emnes (hamstring) and Marouane Zemmama (hip) will be given until the last moment to prove their fitness.

hope emnes doesn't play because he's caused us problems over the last season or so. think boro will find it difficult today.
