JANUARY TARGETS

Mon Dec 12, 2011 9:32 pm

I'm sure that we would all love to see the likes of Lewis McGugan or Billy Sharp signing for Cardiff but it is highly unlikely as Malky has said that players like them are not part of his plans. Bradley Wright Phillips would be a great signing but he is a bad egg and we have no room for his kind at the club. More likely targets are as followed;

John Bostock- Attacking Midfielder
The 19 year old is a 5ft 10ins attacking midfielder who currently plays for Tottenham. This would make sense because Malky needs a creative winger, an attacking midfielder and a striker. He made his professional debut with Crystal Palace at the age of 15 when signing from Ajax when he was 8. He is the youngest Palace player to start for them as his first start was against Cardiff City at Ninian Park at the age of 15 Years and and 295 Days on 6th November 2009. He then scored 2 goals in 9 appearences for Brentford on a month-long loan before joining Hull City on a season-long loan where he scored 2 goals in 11 appearences. He has captained England Under-17s

Robert Koren- Midfielder
Captain of the Slovenian National Team and plays for Hull City at the age of 31. A very experienced team who has played in the premiership. The 5ft 9ins captain has scored 17 goals in 129 apps for Dravograd, 22 goals in 78 apps for Celje, 19 goals in 75 apps for Lillestrom, 16 goals in 129 apps for West Brom and 13 goals in 61 apps for his current club, Hull City.

Jordan Rhodes- Striker
The Huddersfield striker is currently playing alongside Cardiff City loanee Jon Parkin at the League One club. He is 6ft 1in and is very highly rated. He has played and scored against us this year in Cardiff's 5-3 victory at the Cardiff City Stadium in the Carling Cup earlier this year. The Scottish International has not yet had his cap but as he is Scottish, he is a likely target for Cardiff. He scored 1 goal in 10 apps for Ipswich before going out on loan to Oxford where he failed to score in 4 apps and Rochdale where scored 2 goals in 5 apps and lastly Brentford when he scored 7 goals in 14 apps (0.5 goals per game). Then he made a permanent move to Huddersfield Town where so far, he has scored 48 goals in 98 apps.

Any thoughts? :ayatollah:

I would prefer if only rhodes came they other two are ok imo but like sam i would like Sordell here as a striker though.
not to sure about the two midfielders though
and according to sky sports Sheff Utd's Matthew Lowton is on Malkys list
going to be an exciting month :ayatollah:

Seems to score some pretty goals for the highlights but have always been massively dissapointed whenever ive seen him in a game. A very poor mans Peter Wittingham IMO

Good call BlueBirdForever. Currently out-of-favour with Spurs.... his dad fell out with ol arry. Pace and a bit of trickery in midfield - something we are missing in tight games.

as in Clive Platt, the useless Coventry striker who struggles to get in their team, is 34 years old and has scored about 3 goals since signing for them 18 months ago. Great signing
