Old school hardcore is were my roots are at. I love the stuff and it's what got me into the club scene now. I have a shit load of old rave tape packs in the house. I got into it as I turned into my teens so never went to a real old school rave. I travel the country these days to big house and trance events.

I used to love the old hardcore rave stuff early nineties with top buzz and fabio etc mc scratchmaster etc, One of the best sets I witnessed mind was Sasha universe near Newport around 91, The beauty of the youtube is that people have uploaded all the old classics for example N JOI live in manchester what a great record that was. I used to love Marthas in Swansea and the Hippo but did travel around the UK when money allowed me, I lost the plot with it all after speed garage as the happy hardcore music was all a bit mental although did have some good pick ups in them. The bunker in Newport on Stow hill which was the club under zanzibar had some good days and I managed to get on the same set as Grooverider once playing music whilst it filled up :ayatollah: Something which was funny Blackwood Bluebird was the raves they used to have in Pontllanfraith lesiure centre. There was thousands there and in the end it got too big with lads coming from Bristol and the Police pulled the plug on them. Bloke from route clothing used to run them from what I remember, Some of the best days of my life going away with City with Stone roses on or the rave. Talking of which they even made 2 cardiff city rave tapes. With techno versions of blue army and do the ayotollah I remember driving through Blackwood high street blasting Blue Army rave out much to the amusement of the drinkers. lol :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

awesome hazy days. Did Fantazia, Universe, Sanctuary etc....glow sticks, whistles, dummies, chewing my cheeks off and stinking of Vic vapour rub.

Happy days...............I think :ugeek:

Got a shed load of Dreamscape and Fantazia tape packs. Vibes, Vinylgroover and Brisk were my favourites back in the day though like I said I was only a teenager so the closest I got was raving with white gloves while playing micro machines on the megadrive.

HardcoreMemories and JungleMemories was trending on twitter the other day, some of the tweets the DJ's were posting were crazy. Someone mentioned that they climbed the scaffolding in a tent at one rave and they actually stopped the music to tell them to get down.

God knows how people can start doing that again in there 40,s ffs. It was hard enough when I was 21. Some of the early raves like fantazia NYE in Exeter, universe Newport, rain dance in London, Lakota, tom toms were in another level. The pills were so strong you couldn't control it if you tried. There won't be a time like that again for a while, new music, new drugs and half naked fit women dancing around you in bra tops....lots of people in the scene in Cardiff but apart from the odd night and the freebase crew you had to travel if you wanted a top night. Used to like going to Martha's back in 92 mainly due to the fact it was half full of cardiff folk despite the fact they say they owned the place  can't believe some of the drives home I have done after raving around the Uk. :P
