What if it was the other way around and a group of white people attacked 1 somali ????
this really is showing how much of a mockery our system is...

Read this in the Metro on the way to work this morning. It was a very violent, cowardly, racist attack and they weren't sent to prison for it - why?
I think there should be an urgent review of this case and the judge should be moved to other duties - or retire.

agreed....
also to say they were not used to alcohol being a muslim is shocking... if they are out and living in a western society were alcohol is readily available how does he know that they are not regularly out drinking etc...

this reasonable/unreasonable force is an argument for the ages because no one has ever stated what reasonable force is, there is no government policy on it at all so its down to every individual case
in my opinion the bf was using reasonable force all i saw was him trying to push the girls away, which yes is an assault in itself but considering these girls were kicking his gf in the head is reasonable force
what im more disgusted with is they were allowed to get away with it because their society/religion doesnt drink
that shouldnt make a difference
being drunk is a criminal offence
and if you are aggressive through alcohol then you deserve to be brought up to the full powers of the law
the law is supposed to be transparent not taking into account colour or creed
if you break our laws you get punished for it

the biggest thing im worried about with this is it sets a precedent
and not just for the muslim society but society as a whole
if your allowed to have a reduced sentence because you are not used to the effects of alcohol
your giving an excuse to every 16-18 year old thug who is involved in any alcohol related disorder
saying 'sorry your honour im not used to the effects of alcohol'
