IS TURNER OVER LOOKED BY FANS ?

Mon Dec 05, 2011 10:57 am

Since this guy has been in our back 4 ,he has been amazing with anyone he plays with.
Ok when he first took to the field we let in a few silly goals but now with him in there at the back we are a really mean team.
Its a little like going for a drink with Annis ! you will have a good work out , as it will always be you walking to the bar.
But I do think Turner and the way he is playing needs to be Man of The Match soon. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Even though he is being overlooked as man of the match at the moment, he's been singled out for plenty of recognition at the moment. he's proving to be a brilliant signing and he has a surprising turn of pace as well

I thought that Gerard had a great game too and Hudson slotted in nicely when he came on. That's the best I have ever witnessed Lee Naylor play and its great to see, he really has come on and looks a totally different player from last season, I'd say our defence now is one of the best in the league by far.
Onwards and upwards. In Malky I trust :ayatollah:

Yep 100% agree Gerard is also doing great, thank god Malky brought him back to us, as for Naylor I always knew how he could play from when he was with Wolves. He use to break down the wing and would put over some great crosses, the only thing I would say against Lee is , he lets players turn him too easly, but looks like Malky been working with him as no one got the better of him Sunday. O Yes ! Lee also has a really great left foot on him too. I have seen him score some really good goals away.

Turner (dare i say it) is turning into a very commanding defender who demands
respect in the same way an experienced Kevin Ratcliffe did when he was here!!
But Ratcliffe never really stood out by way of tackles/headers etc. So was rarely
Man of the Match in that sense!!

All you could hear on the pitch back then was him chatting cajoling encouraging
the likes of Damon Searle and Jason Perry. Ratcliffe didnt actually ever DO much with
the football, other than tell the rest of the defence what to do.

Turner, though much younger and far less experienced has a presence about him.

He doesnt NEED to put many tackles in, because he reads the game so well and his
positioning is first rate...which is just as well because there would be
dead bodies strewn across the pitch

As time goes by I think we'll see him making less headers too... as sides get the message
that whatever they pump into the area will be sent straight back with interest.

Whisper it... but we have a nailed on Premiership Class Centre Half here already, and he's
been out for nearly a year :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

He had king and that tall fella in his pocket all game against brum.....our defence looks a lot firmer with turner in the mix, and with Naylor hitting form, hudson, taylor, kev, gerrard, quinn, blake we've got a fair bit of depth

Quinn is the forgotten man. But is solid as a rock when he does come in

when malky spent 750k on turner i thought what the fcuk is he doing, imo we were strong in that position and the fact that kev and darcy can cover, i thought the money would of been better used else where to strethen the squad. how wrong, a great buy he really must of done his homework on this guy. now prob one of the first on the team sheet, great management. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I just think we the fans should consider him as player of the match, he puts in a really top performance in most games and along with Gerrard keeps the other teams strikers at bay. :ayatollah:

Against Blackburn, Gerrard made at least 6 mistakes I counted. If they wee going to get a goal, it would have been through him.

Gerrard makes as many, if not moe, mistakes than Hudson.

Never gets the stick Hudson does, though. Goes to show that some fans are swayed by the fist pumping and winding up of Jacks.

That tackle Sunday will be the moment I will remember this season for regardless what we do.

The way Turner ate the ground up as he raced for the ball was breath taking. Knowing someone like that is in your defence installs comfort.

I'm starting to believe.

There was one pass from Turner in the second half vs Birmingham which went 50 yards accross pitch and landed on a sixpence for McNaughton.

It was a superb pass but hardly got a reaction from the crowd.

This is in contrast to McPhail who gets the whole stand applauding when he makes a backpass to the Keeper and a complete ovasion if he manages a short pass forward.

I simply don't understand why a player who really makes a difference doesn't get the credit he deserves when other wasters do.

Was that the tackle when he fluffed his clearence inside the box then to make up for it went in hell for leather on king with an awesome but legal sliding covering tackle. That was awesome

Better on the ball than Johnson for sure, still an xfactor lacking compared to Johnson but by all means improving every game. Over the moon with him signing
