dont we qualify for euro anyways, if (say we play man-city in the final and lose) and man city finish the top 4, because they go to the champs league, dont it mean we then are in euro

Wrong.

That only occurs for the FA Cup. If it's say Man City as in your example, the place goes to next highest club in Prem league,

Could do :D

Lets say the winners of the cup win the league. Then the place will go to the best seated premier club which could be the Jacks.

So the Jacks could rise up the table and finish behind teams that already qualify for Europe. If one of those teams havbe already won the cup, could quite easily be Liverpool or Man City, then the Jacks will go into Europe. However if it us who wins the cup...we stop the Jacks.

Swansea from what Baz in works tells me - might be in the Europa League next season on the fair play rule :?:

Then that would be better if we drew them.

Aye and Tate, back from injury, brings down Bellamy in the last minute at the Liberty to save a point that gives the Jacks the final place but then gets booked and ends up knocking the Jacks of top spot.

Letting my imagination run away with me tonight.

Getting a head of yourselves a bit , there is a small matter of getting past Palace first , that was no fluke last night for them and no mean feat in beating Utd away so two differcult games for you I think .

Wrong.

That only occurs for the FA Cup. If it's say Man City as in your example, the place goes to next highest club in Prem league,

wrong, the runner up in BOTH cups qualify if the winner has gained a european spot by some other means,
(top 4, FA cup, FA cup runner up, fair play winner)

no he is right, the FA cup and league cup are different

"The winners qualify for the UEFA Europa League, if they have not qualified for European competition through the Premier League or by winning the FA Cup. If this occurs, then the Europa League berth goes to the highest-placed team from the Premier League not already qualified for Europe. "

Good point that. The Carling Cup is a Football League Competition so why are they bending over backwards to reward Premiership teams who don't even take the Competition seriously?

I have Emailed the FL and suggested that they should change their rules so that the highest placed FL team left in the Competition at the S/F stage should get the Europa League Place, no matter who wins it. I have also suggested that the change should happen now to avoid a terrible injustice ;)

Re: We could stop the Jacks getting to Europe

it's a bit far fetched

swansea would have to finish 7th or 8th for europa, and they have a 1 in 20 chance winning the fair play

if they lose at blackburn they are going to be relagation contenders again,

The Jacks will never get to Europe. TANK has been asking fellow jacks where Europe is? :ayatollah: :D :ayatollah:

No i didn't but watched them last night and in fairness they more than matched Utd ,and with the promise of a visit to Wembley to play either Liverpool or Man City thats got to raise anyones game.I haven't seen you play this season either but by all accounts you're moer solid aa a unit and play for each other so who knows. It's over two legs so two interesting games for you
