please correct me if im wrong but if liverpool man city and man utd qualify for europe through the league/fa cup surely that means Cardiff city will have the european place from the carling cup regardless if we win or loose ?

No - I'm pretty sure only the winners get a euro place not runners up etc. If winners already in europe place goes to next highest in premier league

Yeah, this is what I thought. It's a shame because I am a firm believer that European places attributed to the cup competitions should stay within the cup competitions. Even if it means the clubs have a playoff to decide the qualifier if it is a case of two semi final teams being eligible.

it does with the fa cup but not with the league cup. one is run by the FA and the other by the league itself and thats why the difference
