http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15957699.stmSo easy for a premiership manager to say that after losing to a side in a lower league. We outplayed them on the pitch for most of that match and made them look weak so why steve kean would try and overshadow it I don't know

They did make a few changes & think if Samba played it may have been a little tighter but great performance

Strangley enough if Blackburn beat Swansea on Saturday then Kean's thinking would have given Cardiff City the perfect week

What very poor sportsmanship by Steve Kean. Face it, he's horrible. He can't even manage a team.

just shows how crap a manager he is....a win last night for blackburn breeds a bit of confidence.
i would be peed off knowing that my team forefieted a cup match.....shortsighted.

Yeah. I have no idea why he thinks "forfeiting" the League Cup will help his Premiership chances. Surely, boosting morale by getting to the League Cup Semi Finals would be better? Sounds like a piss poor excuse for a shit manager. Very disrespectful in my opinion.

i hope he gets the sack

That's pretty disrespectful to the Blackburn fans. Why not air that publicly before the game and save them the travelling costs ??
Poor show Mr. Kean

In an interview on Monday, Kean said "I won't sacrifice cup success . . ."
Wonder what changed his mind during his post match interview.
Blackburn fans must (are) be livid

I saw this piece on the "caught offside" site and thought it got a lot closer to the truth than Keane's "cover your ass" comments:

agree.. he tactically got it wrong, waited to long to bring on yakubu and roberts...
listening to the radio on way home last night the 1000 blackburn fans were less than impressed and felt that a cup victory would boost players morale ...
fact players and teams play better when heads are up and confidence is good...

Looking at it another way, he's put a hell of a lot of pressure on himself for the game against us! I mean if he 'forfeits' a carling cup QF against you then loses on Saturday then.........surely!
