BOTHROYD : VICTIM OF RACIST ABUSE

Sorry if this has already been posted but Jay Bothroyd was the victim of racist abuse on Twitter following QPR's game against Norwich on Saturday.

Bothroyd has promised to report the abuse to twitter.

In this day and age I cannot for the life of me understand and certainly will never tolerate racism.

Pathetic ignorant fools.

QPR striker Jay Bothroyd has pledged to report the Twitter user who allegedly sent him racist abuse.

The 29-year-old England international received a message on the social network from the account of a user named Karl Martin, using the Twitter handle @KarlMartin16, calling him a 'useless lazy n*****' after the 2-1 defeat at Norwich.
The message - which Karl Martin has since claimed on Twitter was sent by friends without his knowledge - referred to Ron Atkinson's infamous slur against then-Chelsea defender Marseille Desailly.
Bothroyd was quick to respond to the comments.
'Racist people these people are shameful,' the striker posted on Twitter.
Bothroyd later tweeted: 'Thanks my tweeps, I will report this incident. Narrow minded people can't get away with that sort of behaviour'.
The @KarlMartin16 feed includes numerous abusive messages recently sent to celebrities and other athletes. The user, whose profile says he is from Plymouth, has since claimed that friends tweeted the messages without him knowing.
QPR would not comment on the matter.

I don't understand why so many players use Twitter - it's a license for them to make plonkers out of themselves. It also exposes them to ignorant fools such as this person.

Jay seemed to spend more time on twitter than on the training ground last season,i dont see how it can be good for a professional footballer either,must be a bloody nuisance for managers aswell

This whole racism trend is pathetic. I've seen some right morons post Facebook statuses that have come up on my news feed that have made me delete people I have been friends with for years. Some people are so uneducated that they think it's hilarious and "banter".

On a similar note, a girl on my Facebook status had a rant about all the attention Gary Speed's death is getting saying he was a tw*t for taking his own life and obviously having too much money must be stressful and making all sorts of comments like that. Scum bag. People like that just embarrass themselves and will never achieve anything in life.

English-i obviously can't speak for Jay during his time for Cardiff but the two things I have said on here before that I maintain today are as follows;

Dave Jones-What player could be inspired by such a dull man? I saw him show emotion on the touchline about 3 times in all my years of watching football. Maybe Jay just had enough.

Neil Warnock-the absolute opposite to DJ & one of the most passionate men in the game, you will not see a player under performing effort wise when playing for this man. Jay must also realise now he's in the prem its his last shot at the big time.

I honestly can't fault him he's been very good for us.
