What next for wales

Sun Nov 27, 2011 7:55 pm

Obviously a sad day and paying respects is more important right now than football,

but what does the future hold for short term welsh football, personally I think ryan giggs would be an ideal candidate to take over and also the man gary speed would want to succeed him

robbie savage and brian flynn :ayatollah:

Brian Flynn or Robbie Savage in the short term. Then when Giggsy finishes his contract at Old Trafford we should have him. I've heard he's got his coaching badges already too!
But the original post was correct. Paying respects is the highest priority.

definately gotta agree, someone who knows speed well and knows how to keep the passion , even with bellamy's lack of experience he's from within the speed camp which is good

total respect is the priority at the moment...

flynn for temp charge for any friendlies in the new year.. qualifiers dont start til sept 12 so i personally would wait until this football season is over... and reassess during the summer...

Exactly ... some people need to be alittle more respectful.... there are far more important things in life than football. My deepest sympathy goes to Gary's family and friends.... :(

My only hope is whoever takes over continues his improvements and we can get to brazil for speed to watch down and be proud of us.

Its ages for the next international, so it allows time for grieving and introspection, and looking back at the contribution this diamond of a football man has given Wales and the world. Although the thought has popped into my head about the next manager, I am just too shocked to contemplate it all. I have never shed tears over a famous person dying young, that includes Lennon, Mercury, Winehouse though George Best came close....real tears today. RIP Gary, never knew you but missing you already mate.

As we all know, paying respects is the first priority, but surely the FAW, in the next few weeks and months, will be thinking about his replacement. It's sad but true; life goes on.

Gary Speed; gorffwysed yn hedd, a diolch am bopeth. Nos da :(
