Malky's only mistake yesterday imo...

Sun Nov 27, 2011 2:23 pm

Was putting Ralls on for McPhail. I know Kiss was injured, and Ralls has already shown what a good layer he is tis season, but I thought Malky should have put Darcy on instead. Forest were putting a bit of pressure on towards the end and I think putting Darcy on would have helped to add some steel and bite to our midfield. That's only a small criticism mind and it's great to see us keep going to the very end. Another good, battling win and another clean sheet. I love seeing us keep clean sheets and look hard to beat, although Gerrard was very lucky at the end. :ayatollah:

disagree,

why change the shape of the side when we had the edge, putting on another defender just invites more pressure on us. keeping 5 in the middle helped us keep the ball out of our box alot better

I thought the same actually. Though as it turns out, we did still hold out, so
he was proved right!! Funny one really.

It shows the faith he has in youngsters which is refreshing

hmmmm when leading in the last 10 you need to keep hold of the ball, Darcy blake cannot keep hold of anything, whitts moveed deeper and ralls played alongside gunnar. ridiculous decision if he put blake on.

Putting Blake on for McPhail wouldn't have changed the shape. Blake could have slotted in alongside Gunnarsson in midfield with Whittingham a bit further forward. Forest were coming at us towards the end and I think Blake would have helped us out defensively. Also, to the poster who says Blake can't pass a football, I understand everyone has different opinions, but that's a load of rubbish. In Blake's last few games for Wales, he has rarely given the ball away. Blake isn't as good as Ralls on the ball, but he is still decent enough and the job of a defensive midfielder is to win possession and give a simple pass, which is something Blake is very good at imo.

Totally agree with that. Well done Ralls, but Darcy wouldn't have let us down either

I was pleased to see ralls come on, he seems to have that ability to run with the ball which kept the pressure on them.

Malky's only mistake was picking that lazy tw*t McPhail in the first place.

Putting that aside I think Ralls came on the bolster the left-hand side and he did the job perfectly.
