I was just starting to enjoy my football with Wales again, Gary was like another Malky for Welsh football, he will be very sadly missed in football and away from it. RIP

Only just found out when Craig Text me. I am still in shock.

Andy, I can understand why as he was Morgans hero.

I just felt sick when I found out, I feel there is so much to say but I really am just lost for words.
It's the last thing anyone would have expected.
Let's hope the welsh team can push on now and get to brazil 2014 in speeds name and make him even prouder watching down on us

Gary did everything that he could for Wales; as a player, as a manager, and as a man. He was one of us. The very least that we can do now, in his memory, is to try to continue Gary's work, and get to Brazil in 2014.
Must be very difficult for the Welsh lads playing for Swansea or the Villa today.
Thoughts and prayers are with Gary's family. Rest in Peace.

a few weeks ago i was lucky enough to meet him when he opened the the barclays branch in town.... he delayed the corporates to sign as many autographs as he could. and also took time to speak to anyone that wanted to talk to him.
truely sad day for welsh football
RIP x

Not just them, I think speed had an effect on a lot of people he met.
Shay Given looks devastated and in tears in practically every close up

I was lucky enough to have met Gary Speed a few times. Kids football up in Deeside and
Rhyl. Very nice lad. I was in Flint last year at a tournament and HE tapped ME on
the shoulder and we had a brief chat about the City. I'm a grown man but dont mind
saying i was chuffed to bits. He had time for everyone.
RIP a great Welshman

He was a gent mate. no airs and graces. Whatever shite comes out about
him (and it generally does)... he was a top bloke and a proud Welshman

I spent an evening with him at my friend's the Goalkeeper Mark Crossley's house when Gary was Sheffield United manager! I kept saying to him please get Sheff Utd relegated and he just kept winding me up about the Owls!I kept on about him not signing for the Owls as big Ron Attkinson had a £5million bid for him rejected! He alway's looked very fit and was a joy to be in his company! Mark is devestated and he was the one that contacted me about Speedo death this morning, it's a very sad loss and my thoughts go out to his wife and children! A very big loss to everyone just can't believe what's happened!
