He has scored again

Sun Nov 27, 2011 11:38 am

Yesterday another goal by Ross McCormack, Surely worth at least a million in this division.

We gave him away for less than £300,000.

Re: He has scored again

He was sold for 600k.

Was he worth a million when he went 19 games for Leeds without a goal?

It's all subjective, half a season is way too short a sample period to look at.

Double standards.

You slate Jay and Chops for going to a party and picking up some birds yet Ross was alcholic.

Cant have it both ways.

Yes he scored again yesterday, but it was worthless - they lost to Barnsley

Polo, Wrong, Jones gave them chance after chance, Ross was never given a proper run again. Jones had his favourites.

Given a choice between Chops OR Ross, it'#s Chops every time due to being the better finisher. Take the penalties out of Ross' total during that one season, he scored the same as Bothroyd ( 12-13) from open play. And that was Bothroyd's then highest in a season.

Sure, Jones had his favourites, but if you get pissed, crash a car then funnily enough it's not going to endear you to any manager.

I agree we should never have sold Ross, but you're quick enough to say were right to sell Copra for his attitude and partying yet wanted to keep Ross - who by all accounts makes Chopra look like a light weight for drinking

Ross is not only a great striker, he's a brilliant passer of the ball and could be played wide . Gutted Ross went tbh.

Take away all the stuff about Ross getting done for drink driving and look at him just as a footballer and in my opinion he did show in his first season with us he was a very decent Championship forward. As a result of that season Hull City offered a few £m for him and that must tell you something.

This season he appears to be back to his best and lets face it 10 goals before the halfway point of the season is a very decent return. To answer your question Annis try and look at how much Leeds Utd now value him as a player and I bet it is far higher than either the £300k - £600k they paid for him.

In my opinion he was a give away to any club who could repair the damage to his confidence he suffered here, Grayson seems to have done that or maybe even Ross himself because without the injury to Bechhio would Grayson even have played him.

I don't know but in my opinion an on form Ross was worth a great deal more than the fee we received for him. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

i would have him over earnie every day of the week yes he went of the rails a bit but typically of jones instead of trying to rehabilitate him he puts him in the wilderness.
Why waste time trying to get ross on the right track when you can play 18 holes instead.

I think Mackay would be keen on having him here too.

Tim
I believe the same, he would of suited Mackay down to the ground. :ayatollah:

A law breaking drunk, I do wonder if MM would have wanted him.
Last year he was awful and would have been out of contract anyway, after last season would any of us wanted it extended?

mcormack had problems and it seems they continued at leeds as its taken him nearly 2 years to get his head right.

Luke, Ross went of the rails and went to DJ for help, but certain players were totally ignored, I honestly believe Ross would have done well last year with support.

Look at his previous year and this year.He is proving he can do it once again :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Luke, I hate drink driving, but there must be at least 20-30 drink drivers still playing football and if Ross had come back scoring, I am sure you would not be saying that now.

Everyone's deserves a second chance Annis and your prob right.
However after his injuries last season I certainly wouldn't have offered him a new deal if I'm honest.

Agreed Annis. The only drink driver that didnt deserve another chance was Lee Hughes because he killed someone at the wheel and drove off. Ross is a talented footballer-I'll never forget his performance v Burnley in the last bank holiday game at NP-his 2 solo goals were pure class.

I hate drink drivers Gareth, but look at the drug dealers and Paedos out there as well, our Govt gives them a second chance.

Ross was only lucky not to kill someone, it was down to luck and who knows what his drunken reaction would have been.

Very true-anyone who drink drives is a tw*t and Ross was lucky that he got away with hitting a roadsign.

Annis I honestly believe everyone deserves a chance especially if they take help.

Doesn't stop me hating them, especially these footballers who earn thousands a weeks an could pay £20 for a taxi.
