" SAVING MONEY BUT "

BUT THAT MONEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN REINVESTED BACK INTO THE SQUAD

I reckon we have saved anything up to £15,000/£20,000 every week, loaning out the number of players we have including Parkin, Keinan, Wildig, Jarvis and Farah.

We needed more players, Malky wanted more players but why has he not been able to get them.

Opinions please.

Its Winter now and my worry is injuries and suspensions.

I back Malky 100% and will continue to do so. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Hopefully it's a case of malky feeling that the right type of player not being available rather than him not being backed by the board. Sadly I believe the latter is true!!

Spot on.

Disappointing to say the least!
Malky must be screwing!
The board may of looked at it that at 3rd place n playing well why upset the apple cart but they must be stupid and we are probably a bit of a laughing stock ATM!

Disappointing day & outcome!
Only the board know why??

I believe Vincent Tan has been going nuts at Malky for not strengthening!!
He has TOLD Malky that he can spend money, he has TOLD Malky that he
has his blessing to go out and get players.......... :D :D :D

Not one City fan can say my version of events is any more correct or
incorrect than the 'Malky isnt being backed' version

Cos we dont know

Re: " SAVING MONEY BUT "

Thu Nov 24, 2011 5:57 pm

You do not know if Malky wasn't backed or backed, the only person that knows is Malky or Tan.

Re: " SAVING MONEY BUT "

Thu Nov 24, 2011 6:01 pm

I just dont think the right players are available, I havent seen any players loaned out that I would have wanted at City.
If I thought we needed a striker I would have liked Fortune but I dont think we do.
I do think a wide player would be useful however I havent seen anyone like we need available.

Alternatively maybe MM wants to keep the budget for January, we all know how costly loans are especially when trying to get something done at the last minute.

How someone above can say Tan has lost interest when he has is paying two managers and a new set of backroom staff and invested in the playing squad earlier in the season :?

Re: " SAVING MONEY BUT "

all will be revealed in time but i just think it has to be the players coming in aren't better than what we have got, or the parent club are commanding too much of a contribution towards wages

Surely of all those teams in the premier league there are players not in the first team squads busting to play first team football??? I'm sure it's not a simple process but we are surely an attractive club for such reserve prem players trying to prove their worth to their respective gaffer?

Of course there is, but these clubs also want huge loan fees and high percentages of wages being paid. It's a different market these days. These teams want them playing football and off their wage bills, just as we did with a few of our players. These deals only happen when it suits both clubs. Malky obviously doesn't want to pay huge fees or high percentages for guys who may only be here 6 weeks and I don't blame him.

There's not one player that has gone out on loan I would have wanted cardiff to sign, would have Liked another winger and striker but id rather wait til Jan for right players if they not available now.

a clever bit of business with parkin going to huddersfield with a deal made for Rhodes coming the other way as a permanent deal in January, nice thought just clutching at straws

Yes I for one agree and have said myself Now is the time to bring in a player or 2, so they can bed in to the run up to Christmas, around that time gives a good insight into who will be the top 3 clubs battling for the top 2 places.
But of course we do have people who know lots and lots about Football Called NERD who thinks we cant throw millions and Millions at bring in players. Thing is I have not seen anyone shouting about Millions, not even Malky, BUT ! malky have said time and time again we need more players, Maybe Malky got it wrong ! why o why dont Malky as THE NERD

People seem to forget that we still have a great team.

Yes-we need another striker and a quick wide player, but we have done pretty well with what we've got.

Would you break up a team that has gone 6 games unbeaten? Would you suddenly say to the existing players, thanks for winning, but we think we have somebody better?

I think the main problem that Malky has faced is that he can't promise anyone coming in regular first team football, as he does not want to disrupt a successful formula. Anyone who comes into the club now knows that they will have to wait their chance, and if you are a Premier player coming down, you want to be playing all the time.

I think that rumours about the board not backing him are wide of the mark.

Yes very happy so far, but winter is here, injuries/suspensions will come. Malky stated this week " I f we want promotion, this squad needs strengthening ". :ayatollah:

So where is the strenghthening comming from then annis because people are saying we are using the money for other things eg/debts yet we carnt pay for players to come in and loads going out on loan theres no middle ground and how do the board expect returns on there MONEY if we are sat mid table come end of the season which will result in more losses on the books come end of the season im guesing,im just not getting it, why i believe we have no money for players and we are being told other things to keep us happy like u said 9 diffrent players not ONE has come in has to be down to money 1-3 injurys/suspensions like you said before jan it will show for sure results wise.

Those players haven't got that close to the squad so far this season so would have no reason to expect they would over the gap between here and January (only a few weeks away). More money saved, more money available come January when the real push begins :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Nat, I hope your right and we def get them come January, just wondering why this week, Malky stated " If we want promotion this squad needs strengthening" funny time to say it.
But personally I say it needs strengthening now as, Winter is here, injuries and suspensions ahead.

I think malky has worked wonders and made us fans proud of our club again. Think we're all a little disappointed tonight but let's be honest everyone of us would of taken the situation we're in now at the start of the season. 3rd in the league and last 8 of the cup. Bluebirds :ayatollah:

A bit disappointed we haven't signed anyone but if you ask me I would rather buy our players in January and get them on contracts rather than panic now and get another loan player in like Koumas or JET! Malky knows what he's doing so let's forget it now wait until January and support the lads on Saturday against Forest!!

malky was quoted in saying getting someone in wasnt just about wages etc so we dont know if the reason nobody was brought in was due to the lack of money

it's absolutely terrible that we are only third in the table with a fantastic manager and a committed hard working team and the board that have bailed us out and are pumping in millions every year

We've never had it so good get a grip knockers ! ! !
