Latest DISCIPLINE Table for the Championship!

Mon Nov 21, 2011 9:27 pm

I wasn't planning to come on so soon after you guys beat us at the Mad stad last weekend, but you'll like this!

LATEST DISCIPLINE TABLE FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Rank - Team / Yellow (= 1pt) / Red (=2 pts) / Total Points
1 Cardiff City 20 / 0 / 20
2 Crystal Palace 20 / 0 / 20
3 Birmingham 20 / 0 / 20
4 Reading 21 / 0 / 21
5 Coventry City 18 / 2 / 22
6 Watford 22 / 0 / 22
7 Burnley 21 / 1 / 23
8 Southampton 20 / 2 / 24
9 Peterborough 21 / 2 / 25
10 Notts Forest 23 / 1 / 25
11 Ipswich Town 20 / 3 / 26
12 Bristol City 26 / 0 / 26
13 Millwall 26 / 0 / 26
14 Barnsley 26 / 0 / 26
15 Derby County 25 / 1 / 27
16 Blackpool 27 / 0 / 27
17 Donny Rovers 26 / 1 / 28
18 West Ham United 26 / 1 / 28
19 Middlesbrough 25 / 2 / 29
20 Hull City 31 / 0 / 31
21 Portsmouth 31 / 2 / 35
22 Leicester City 31 / 3 / 37
23 Leeds United 28 / 5 / 38
24 Brighton 41 / 2 / 45

I’m not trying to say any side in particular plays ‘dirty’ but what do you make of the reading so far? For example, you guys were not on specially good behavior last season (?), if I remember correctly, but this season you're ‘as good as gold’! And under McDermott Reading have been consistently on pretty good behaviour, 3rd season running now … and Brighton fans do not consider their team especially dirty, just that they give away too many niggling fouls! There again, if there were a table purely for fouls, bookings or not, it would probably look quite different. And there again, if there were a table for bookings/sendings off that is purely based on dissent rather than fouls it would again look different. So don’t take this too seriously – there’s little between the teams to be honest!

I think it's down to Malky getting the team to concentrate on the game and not an occasion.
He seems to have the team thinking that way. I think most cards (red and yellow) are due to a lack of concentration or an incident/occasion is played instead of the game.

But then again, that could all be bollux!! :D :D

How can some teams have 3 and 5 in the red card section when a red card is 2 points?

In all honesty I think you deserved at least a point on Saturday. You passed the ball very well and the game was at a very quick pace. Wouldn't be suprised to see you in the play-off fight at the end.

Alternatively we murdered Blackpool and only got a draw, so luck evening itself out for us -and we defended well enough to keep you down to just a handful of clear cut chances. Nobody is going to get an easy game vs you for the rest of the season.

The numbers in the yellow and red card columns show the actual number of cards.
The points are only taken into consideration in the total points column.

I think it's all correct

Ipswich have 20 yellows. Three reds are 3x2 = 6, plus the 20 = 26
Leeds have 28 yellows. Their 5 reds nean an additional 10 points, so 38 in total ...

DJ got hates for saying that lol

I think we now play so compact that we can press and don't need to foul a we know someone will e behind them and the work ethic we have means plays will get back.

Kiss will be our first play to get sent off tho

I think it'll be Gerrard, he'll be put on as a substitute for Turner and will be so upset about not being started in so long he'll do some very stupid tackling.

No bookings v Coventry, so you're still top of discipline table! :)

Ha-ha! Cardiff and Reading the only teams without a red - that's impressive at this late stage of season ...
