how do we all feel about burke

Sun Nov 20, 2011 7:42 pm

now for a while chris burke was rumored (i say rumoured, because i will get sniped for no actual facts), said he wanted to go back closer to scotland to be closer to his son. now whilst at cardiff i am told by someone that burke was on around £7,000 p/w whilst with us, and since joining birmingham that has more than doubled.

so the question is, whilst it seems he has lied to us, how do we feel about it

when routledge left for more money we turned on him, is burke any different for telling us "rumoured" lies and then going for the cash

Burke was great but lost his confidence IMO, when he stopped running at defenders. Did have pace but we've moved on :ayatollah:

Burke's situation changed regarding his son and my view is Burke wanted more money than we offered him and he moved on, end of.

I only ever heard rumours about him wanting to return to Scotland. When I spoke to him at the end of the season awards, he was VERY keen to stay at City. At the end of the day he wanted a better wage and I dont blame any player for that and we didnt want to pay it and rightly so. I have no hard feeling to him, he worded very hard when he played for us and did his all and thats all I ask :ayatollah:

sorry if i have touched a nerve there carl, this wasnt meant to offend anyone.....

its just guys we've had plenty of players who have moved on for more money.

jerome
routledge
fowler

to name but 3.....and now we all boo when routledge plays against us (before he joined the inbreds)

we all hold a grudge against, and in all fairness jerome, routledge where class for us, so im just wondering how everyone will react

Did he ever come out and say he needed to go back home. If he did I suppose it does look a bit rude but that's football. He honoured his contract till the end. He got a great offer,he took it. IMO I think he had gone a bit off the boil towards the end so probably in hindsight it might be for the best.

I have no problem with players leaving for more money, especially those like Bothroyd who have done well and fulfilled there contract.

Players Like Routledge who just walked off as soon as he got another loan and didnt even bother saying bye to the squad
or
Mr Jerome saying he wanted to "play with better players" while still a Cardiff player.
Those types leave a lot to be desired with me, no class, just egos.

so what if he moved for extra money
he'd be stupid not to if his wage was doubled

I loved the Birmingham game just after Jerome had switched to them how the crowd gave him stick every time he got near the ball.

I don't think he even got a shot near the goal.

Not missing Burke in my opinion Craig Conway offers more going forward and has a great cross, Burke's finally delivery was more often than not poor.
Plus on the right side we have the run all day Mr Don Cowie :D :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
Thanks for the memories Chris we have moved on.
