" DO YOU THINK "

Our away support is good week in week out ?

Think hard, we get 23,000 every week at home.

Leeds/Bristol C/Millwall/Westham etc also some kind of restrictions on their fans when they come here.

Yes were going to Reading with 3,500-4,000 away fans, fantastic but is this a one off nowadays ?

But what about the rest of the season ?

I think our away support is the pride of the club. I've been to a fair few away games and love them. I can see why logistical and price issues can affect our attendance at away fixtures but I think we have some of the best away support in the league. :ayatollah:

to a lot of people at the moment, attending an away game takes up 100%, if not more, of their disposable income for the week/fortnight/month.....hats off to those of you that can manage it on a regular basis, but the fact is that we have to pick and choose our games these days.... :ayatollah:

we used to take over 3,000 to Reading when home attendances at Ninian Park were around 12,500 - 15,000 sometimes less :ayatollah: :D :ayatollah:

Good question, Annis.

I think our support holds up pretty well when you take all into account, such as restrictions, geography, high costs in low income areas, etc.. Below are the final average away support numbers from last year. Your question seems to suggest you think we should be higher, based on our home averages. Cost, cost and cost again! Supporters can dig deep for the discounted season tickets, but....

Interestingly though, look at Derby. Average nearly 30,000 at home and most of their games are a damn sight nearer to them than ours. You would expect to see Leeds up there (6,000+) away at Barnsley (!) Also, plenty of their support are boycotting Elland Road for away games, protesting against Bates. Forest, Norwich, Leicester, Sheff Weds, Southampton all expect to see them up there. QPR surprised me!

So I guess we are where I would expect us to be and good on our travellers for that !!

1 1 Leeds United Championship 3 ,484
2 2 Nottingham Forest Championship 2 ,035
3 3 Norwich City Championship 1 ,926
4 4 Leicester City Championship 1 ,876
5 1 Sheffield Wednesday League 1 1 ,722
6 5 Queens Park Rangers Championship 1 ,510
7 6 Cardiff City Championship 1 ,501
8 2 Southampton League 1 1 ,487
9 3 Brighton & Hove Albion League 1 1 ,396
10 4 Huddersfield Town League 1 1 ,310
11 7 Burnley Championship 1 ,293
12 8 Hull City Championship 1 ,264
13 9 Derby County Championship 1 ,256

Cheers for those stats much appreciated. :ayatollah:

Our away support compared to a lot of other Clubs is better than I thought. :ayatollah:
