Darcy Blake needs to leave City now !!

This is my opinion and mine only.
For the sake of Darcy's career he does need to leave the City. I say this as he needs to leave the environment in which he lives in New Tredegar. His company that he keeps leads to the lifestyle he lives. When he went to Plymouth on loan he cleaned himself right up. Now personally as a player i think Darcey is cracking and his performances for Wales has shown his Natural position is Centre Back but he is so versatile he can play anywhere.
I would love it if he stayed with us but at the moment i can't see him sorting himself out as he may think there is nothing to clean up. But if he was to stay he would need to leave the area he grew up in and now residing and move to say the Vale area but away from Tredegar..
For the benefit of Wales he really does need to sort himself as his talent is massive. Anyone who can keep Rooney in there pocket is quality. But if Malky cant sort him then i don't think anyone can.
Come on Darcy one way or another its in your hands

Steve, You are totally correct about him cleaning his act up when he went down to Plymouth, in fact he asked to stay longer down there. The company he keeps is not helping him, I believe he is in Malky's bad books, but has been given the chance to clean his act up. Quality player, I would hate to lose another local player.

2blue i have to disagree there Mate. He is good enough but he needs to be played in one position. Being good at so many positions has been his downfall if that makes any sense as he has not been given a run of games in just one position which must be difficult for him. If he can sort himself out and give him a run at his debatable best position then Darcey will be quality.

Lifestyle is the most important thing in proffesional football, championship and above, you might get away with it in the conference, but ultimately unless you are magicaly talented or elite in fitness it will always be a players downfall,
even diet can effect your game, let alone if your out on the lash every week

i think darcy is quality and a few weeks back i played in a cup against his brothers team, he turned up after the game and as you can see thats him in my avatar with me, he signed my shirt seemed a top bloke but his friends there was a bunch of arseholes, kindly asked the one to take a picture on my mobile and he put it in his pocket saying lost it sorry, yes probably jokes and darcy said wise up but being around people like that is probably having a negative affect with darcy and i think he does indeed need to get his head down and focus on football and get concentrate on getting into our first time because when his heads on straight i bet he will be the best centre back that we got.

We help pay his wages Mallo so we do have a say. And IMO he is throwing away his career and that is Sad. As for the piss ups i aint a finely tuned athlete so game on and it keeps your Mate Sam occupied.

I kind of agree and for me it has to be at CB but I don't think he is as gd as Hudson or turner and maybe not ahead of Gerrard. So to me his biggest strength to Cardiff city is his versatility rather than his quality.

Wales Online are now reporting that he is having showdown talks with Malky

I'm not sure what the issues are with Darcy or even if there are any real issues but one thing I do know he is a terrific footballer who loves playing for Cardiff City. Remember when others from the previous regime were running their contracts down Darcy signed a contract extension, without hesitation, and you can bet the money on offer was a lot less than other players are being paid.

In my opinion Darcy is a victim of his own versatility and as a result he has failed to make one position his own but having said that it is difficult to argue that his best performances for city have been at CB. When you back that up with his recent performances for Wales at CB you have to ask why he is only getting a chance during Carling Cup matches or covering for injuries on defence or midfield. MM and his backroom team are doing all sort of medical testing of players between games and monitoring general fitness and maybe this is highlighting problems which maybe lifestyle related. If thats the case then the only person to sort it out is Darcy himself.

But I will never agree with anyone who says he is not good enough to play CB for Cardiff as in my opinion he is as good as anyone at the club in that position, given his covering pace only MacNaughton and Turner can match him in that respect. In fact as a right sided CB he is actually challenging Mark Hudson for a place in the team.

Can anyone seriously see Mark Hudson being picked ahead of Darcy for Wales, if Hudson was qualified of course, the answer is an emphatic NO. So why is Darcy so clearly behind Hudson at Cardiff, MM is no fool and he knows he has a player in Darcy so there has to be another reason.

Is it lifestyle? I for one hope it's not but if it is only Darcy can sort that out.

i think he is only 22 yrs old ,plenty of time for him to get himself sorted .will surely take over from hudson in the future. him and turner will form a formidable partnership for many years, he is one for the future
