ok explain to me what makes Britain exempt from the rules
what gives Britain the right to invade countries and tell them how they should live their lives and tell them what rules they should follow
and then when Britain finds a rule it doesnt like kick and scream like a spoilt child until it gets its way
REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY
IS ABOUT REMEMBRANCE
NOT FOR POLITICAL GAIN
i spit in Cameron's face over this political badgering of FIFA, his blatant ignorance of rules and his use of a day for Remembrance of the great sacrifice our Men and Women have taken for this country for his own political gain

If you'd bother to read the blog its more than the poppy issue

no what hes said is nothing we havent heard before and is finding excuses
and is trying to find justification for Britains blatant rule breaking because we obviously consider ourselves different to anyone else
obviously we are the only country who remember our war dead
you dont see Germany kicking up a fuss do you they just get on with it.
I find it highly hilarious in one article that this idiot condemns FIFA for blatant rule breaking whilst praising Britain for doing exactly the same thing.

Completely missing the point. It's about blatters constant bad management on issues which has shamed football fans all over the world.

ok fine we will take your path
blatter isnt the best guy to be running FIFA granted
but how has he mis-managed this situation
actually he did more than he needed to initially by granting a minutes silence and black arm-bands
but that wasnt good enough for the British public was it
so people in this country who should know better
and should respect rules even if they dont agree with them
I had no problem with them asking but once FIFA said no that should have been the end of it
I think this is a massive smoke screen by the government to defend the home secretary
and has let the BNP take a massive political victory over this matter
So stop making excuses and trying to white wash the whole siuation by making FIFA look worse than it already is
I believe the only people who has come out looking good from this is the SFA as they had no issue with the rulings made by FIFA but will now wear the poppies on their arm bands now it has been sanctioned

His mis-managed because no-body knows what part of the rule would have been broken. By keeping everone guessing only put FIFA in a bad light once again. Personally I don't believe it is political, commercial or anything else but if you do then that's fine but Blatter should have stated the reason why they feel that rule would have been broken. Your smokescreen comment is very interesting but I don't buy it.

well i was under the impression that it was under the ruling of no political messages and the neutrality of football
FIFA stated that although the poppy is not a direct political statement it would open the door to countries wearing various other symbols on their shirts, some of which would be overtly political
FIFA originally allowed the poppy on training gear (which they didnt have to) and allow a period of silence (which they didnt have to) FIFA were not being insensitive to the matter of national remembrance of our servicemen but was protecting their vested interests in keeping football a pure sport not influenced by politics, but that wasnt good enough for the British public so now weve opened the door to all sorts of political messages which Britain will probably complain about no doubt.
My question is why raise the issue now since the end of World War 2 this country has only known of one year where no servicemen have lost their lives in active service 1968 weve had many many Remembrance Parades and many many football games why the sudden uproar now.
