Anyone got any good places for Car insurance ?

Wed Nov 09, 2011 5:43 pm

I used go compare last time and ended up with Swinton. Every year for the last five I've switched companies because the fee keeps going up no matter what. They are a f*cking rip off these days.

f**k knows, it's a joke. I shopped around and got back to what I paid last year at Swinton. I then ran my details through last years insurer and they offered me £60 off what the lettered qoute was - when I phoned them up ait had risen by another £45 from the original qoute. f*cking bonkers!

Due to a 'non motoring conviction' I went through a broker SIS Insurance. 0161 9696040 They got me a the best deal and cheaper than any of the comparison sites. (The actual insurer was Aviva)

If you negotiate your mileage and excess you can ususally keep the premium down, adding partner usually helps too, if you pay monthly you get charged loads of interest. I did a cash advance on my credit card which was interest free for 12 months so you dont get stung.

Hope that helps :ayatollah:

I use the Co-op insurance. Last year I was paying £48 p/m with the Post Office insurance (the cheapest deal on Gocompare at the time) but a friend recommended I got a quote from the Co-op when the renewal came up.

I now pay £28 p/m for the same cover with them.
