Actually it has moved forward regarding stoning.

In the old days it was down to the grieved family to stone to death the infidel. Now these days they throw the culprit into a hole, the grieved family just throw some pedals at the culprit to show their disgust like, then a JCB digger full of bolders comes along and fills the hole out.

A good friend of mine is iranian, who visits his father every year in tehran......on the friday when he went last a police car pulled up, grabbed a guy and executed there and then (he was a supposed murderer) also early on the Saturday his father took him to a public execution, there were blokes selling t-shirts outside, like our badge sellers at CCS.....fooking mental!

150 years ago you could have gone to a public extecution (hanging) in this country although admittedly without the T-Shirt sellers

I used to be an artexer and bought my gear from M&R decorators who at the time were based on Tudor St. The business was owned and run by 2 Asian guys (can't remember their names now) and I can remember them being bollocked by probably the elders of the local mosque because they didn't close for 2 hours on a Friday to say their prayers, every Friday after that the shop was closed for about 2-3 hours and if you wanted gear you had to play safe and get it on the Thursday, so early morning prayers may not be compulsary but Friday prayers certainly are.
