Great read!!

Whitts has upped his game a bit these last few weeks too. His free
kicks were nowhere near the standard of last seasons or the season
before. He seems to have got his eye in now. I think he will get a
minimum of 15 goals this season, he's like an extra striker.

Pure class!!

Never understood why he was so underrated by so many people, a class act. But no doubt when we start to lose a few games he will be one of the players along with Hudson and McPhail who will get the blame, irrespective of how he plays.

We've seen the evolution of Peter Whittingham over the last 2-3 years and I think he's a real class act now. I can see why he had his doubters because he lacked consistency but especially this season he has been superb in every game pretty much for the whole 90 minutes.

I think this is down to Malky bringing out Whitts' nasty side but also it's the maturation of Whitts as a person. It's easy to forget that in the grand scheme of things he is still quite young.

Agree he is pure class but he wont be like an extra striker and wont get 15 goals if we employ him sitting in front of the back four like we did 1st half on Saturday. Total waste. Not like we got pacy wingers / forwards like last season where he can play the long pass into space and we can counter attack.

Thankfully the management seen sense and pushed him 15 yeards further forward 2nd half, and we got the best out of him.

Whitts needs to be played further forward to do proper damage.

especially when we have kiss and gunnarson, two naturally gifted holding midfielders, playing higher than whitts.

gunnerson has the attackign ability to manage but i think kiss should swap with whitts as i feel he is much better winning the ball rather than with it

Yes it does seem strange. Jones did the same last year on occasions with Whitts sitting and Oli charging forward and it didnt work then.

I can understand MM may want him to pull the strings, but he can still do that a bit further forward, in a 3 man midfield, with Kiss / Gunnarson / Mcphail sitting behind Whitts and one other.

Coming to collect it off the centre half, and pumping it forward to a lone striker is not the best use of Whitts for me.

Whitts is without doubt the most skillful city player at present and has gone from being something of a luxury player to now being the most vital cog in Malkys team.

Sure that in time Whitts will become a city legend.

As for his his free kicks!!!
