Why do Fifa have to limit stuff? The troops risked their life for the safety of the country and Fifa don't honour them! Come on England, wear the poppies anyway.

i think fifa has it spot on 'no political messages'
the poppy for our country shows a sign of thanks to our veterans for the sacrifices made on our behalf in war
but in china the poppy represents humiliation at the hands of europeans in the opium wars at wearing it angers the chinese
FIFA's move is not ignorance but responsiblity in its role as a world body
there will be a minutes silence so its not as if it is being ignored or forgotten
and before anyone starts I have served for this country I am aware of the significance but im also aware of the impact theses symbols have on other countries

All the British teams should wear red if there not allowed a poppy on shirts, then auction them all off to the poppy apeal.

Again, it's a total lack of respect to Remembrance Day with clubs stitching the poppies into their kit. Teams are using it as a gimmick and that's low. I think FIFA has the right idea. Why the need to display a poppy on the kit??? If you want to show your respect, buy a poppy, be silent for the one minute that matters. Don't go round demanding a poppy to be stitched into a football kit and have one minute's silences day before Remembrance Day. It's a joke and makes a mockery of Remembrance Day itself.

How are they using it as a gimmick when they are auctioning the tops off and giving the raised money to the Royal British Legion!!! As an active member of the Royal British Legion I feel that there is no difference between a poppy on the shirt and a black armband as both are marks of remembrance. So why does FIFA think that one is acceptable but the other isn't.

Absolute disgrace and its about time FA's stood up to Blatter

I didn't know England were playing China. Oh, that's right, they're not.

In Polish, the word c u n t means crease. Lots of things are different in different countries. Why is FIFA "respecting" China and not the UK?

We are honouring the fallen and there's nothing wrong with that, in my opinion. I don't see that as political, just respectful.

They should wear the kits they'd planned to wear and defy FIFA to do something about it. Useless bureaucrats seem to be everywhere at the moment and it's time more people took a stand against them.

No I didn't miss your point I just don't agree with it. With regards to where I find the time I enjoy helping as many worthwhile charities as I can. The country would be a better place to live if others had that mindset.

well whether you agree with it thats the facts
It was Carl von Clausewitz who stated that 'War is the continuation of politics by other means'
So of course war is a political statement
and remember FIFA is a world body so its not just our sympathies they have to look after
Im sure Argentina wouldnt be too happy neither would China and as we are still fighting a war in Afghanistan a strong movement there wont be very happy about it because its about how they perceive it not how we think they should perceive it
The rules are there so not one country is considered preferred to another, harsh at times but fair
This is twice in as many years David Cameron has turned Remembrance Sunday into a political statement to benefit himself in front of the country and I think David Cameron should remember what Remembrance Sunday is really about before he starts condemning others

Well I never thought that its funny that someone has to work three jobs because he has to take someone to court to get the thousands owed to him from a business deal.

Well, no that's not funny. Good luck with that.
I was thinking more along the lines of how you manage to fit 3 jobs (soon to be 4), joining multiple organisations and starting numerous topics on here in a day. As far as I was aware there was only 24 hours to each day.

They didn't have poppies on shirts until a few years back, why the fake outrage now? Surely a wreath and minute's silence is enough?

Honestly this country

there called poppy nazis and its only very recently after the government discovered they had to win the hearts and minds of its own people to support the troops abroad
after the ridicule servicemen received after their return from Iraq in the early years of the war (i know this from first hand treatment)
now you get accused of being unpatriotic if your not wearing a poppy 24/7
I wear my poppy on 2 days Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday
but i donate money all the time to the RBL
when im in the pub when the collection tins come out all my change at the end of the night goes in the collection tins it adds up after a while.
