Peter Whittingham today

Sat Nov 05, 2011 5:36 pm

Was my man of the match by acountry mile. Under Malkie he is developing into one hell of a player and for me there's not a better player in the league than him.

His goal today was utter quality and as long as we canhang on to the likes of him then we will go from strength to strength.

VT if you or your underlings read this message board believe in the guy you brought in and back him 100%

Today's first half performance was workman like but after half time we were all over them. We wouldn't have seen that last year. Well done Malkie and the boys terrificperformance enjoy your international break :ayatollah:

Can I ask original poster, why you think malkay has developed peter into better player than under jones? Because he's been consistantly good over last 3 seasons. He is quality no doubt about it but can't deny the work jones did with him and previous players at the club.

You need to go to Spec Savers son! Whitts & Gunnarson were awesome in the middle today - the second half was run by Whitts! We're finding a nice balance now in midfield, personally I though our most under performing player was Conway.

Stop talking nonsense hes been churning out top performance after top performance long before malky arrived.

Hes wasted in the sitting role malky had him playing first half.

Thankfully he and we as a team played 15 yards further forward 2nd half and got our rewards.

I don't dispute what malkay has done s far but whitss, mcnaughton, hudson blake etc are the jones era players and malkay as been I jb what 5 months roughly? To say they are better nw than then are absurd the work jones did should get noticed, but he gets slated for everything since he's gone which is a shame.

Oh Peter Peter, Peter Peter Peter Peter Whittingham. Have never understood why we never sing/chant his name. Even the season before last when he banged in over 20 goals. We sang super Kenny Miller after his goal today but no song for Whitts again. The above song is one that is loud when sung. Remember how it was sung for Danny Gabbidon and others before him. Peter Whittingham fits perfectly for this song. Come on boys and make some noise!

I think it stems ftom the player himself. very shy never goes over the top celebrating. very paul scholes like off the pitch doesnt enjoy the limelight.

Best footballer at this football club by a country mile. and to think the boo boys had it in for him lee naylor style at one stage.

Shirts was amazing toaday, I have criticised him in the past for not showing passion, getting some tackles in etc., he shoved my thoughts/words right down my throat today, he was magnificent and by far the best player in this division. :ayatollah:

Peter Whittingham was immense today,he is a class act. Premiership scouts must have noticed his current form and he would walk into a premiership team comfortably, he is in the form of his life, let"s hope no-one clogs him.

I'm sorry mate, But i Totally disagree. The treatment some of our players have SUFFERED under Jones is disgusting.
Ignoring players, Letting them go for free, Driving them out of the club, The list goes on. Mathews is a prime example.
Jones man management was/is piss poor especially with the youngsters. Whitts is class Jones played him out of possession and gave him the wrong roll in the team sometimes. Malkay Has his roll in the team spot on not to mention the 451 formation.

Re: Peter Whittingham today

whittingham was outstanding and i certainly wouldnt complain if he was made captain,ok hes not the most vocal but the way he controls things in the middle of the park is an example to all of our boys in the team.
the way whitts brought the football down and kept possession while always looking for that killer pass was sublime all the while being backed up by the equally superb aron gunnarsson.
his game suffered last season under jones rigid formations which often required him to play defensive midfield(which he did at hull city superbly without any recognition)
In one of malkys first interviews at the club he said my tactics will be based around peter whittingham and thats exactly whats happening with brilliant results

I'm sorry, you are of course entitled to your opinion and I dont wish to have a pop but were you at the game today! Whitts was not only the best player on the pitch by a wide margin but he gave a true midfield masterclass! You won't see many better performances in the championship this season, you've obviously been watching Barcelona too much!

Re: Peter Whittingham today

Whitts I think has found another play within him self, he is tracking back putting in tackles and his ball passing has gone from good to great. I think he knows it himself too. :ayatollah:

Under Dave Jones he would'nt have tracked back and tackled anyone. He has a job to do and is doing it superbly

Whitts is a wonderful player, really!

I don't get this thing about his tackling though - that he gets 'stuck in' more so these days than when DJ was manager :? He never was and never will be a ferocious tackler; it's just the way he is.

He cant tackle. Yes he tried, but he gave away mosyly fouls. Sitting 1st half like he had to.is a complete waste.

  You are a football genius!
He gave away two fouls, both were professional fouls when Palace were about to hit us on the break (the only reason he didnt get booked is cos the ref forgot his cards or because he didnt think Whitts to be 'that kind of pleayer'). Whittingham is utter class and was MOM by a distance. Again.
He can play anywhere in midfiel these days.

Whitts has always been a class act, but MM seems to be giving him the confidence to become possibly the best mid field player in the league. Essential he stays fit. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

My only worry is that he attracts the attention of Premier League clubs who will offer a large amount of money in January.

He is in the best form he has ever been in at this club.

Whitts is going nowhere! He loves Cardiff, He's signed the contract, he's loyal, loves the fans, and Is reading this - so now he's not allowed to upset us! :ayatollah:
