an ever green oak tree planted today and memorial garden to follow for mikey dye and Mr Jones

What a wonderful thoughtful gesture.

That Oak tree will likely be there for well over a hundred years perhaps longer. In years to come future generations of Mr. Dye's family can walk past the tree knowing it was for him.

One bit of advice, get a TPO (tree preservation order) on it, I've forgotten how its done but I'm sure there's a method that if "sufficient" people agree/sign/whatever that it needs protection then its more or less a rubber stamp from the Council. Cardiff Council will have an aboriculturist or dedicated Tree Preservation Officer so would be well worth getting in contact.

it will be there long after we have gone thats for sure and it is protected !

FANtastic, Mikey will always be with us, history don't go away, and Mikey was a big part of our history.
