After reading about Chopra saying today that he played while being injured just to get his appearance money to pay his gambling debts, what was so wrong about Carl's updates when all he was doing was telling everyone the truth about Chopra ?

Chopra twice went to the club and asked for help with money to pay off gambling debts.

Chopra even had a price put on him up North for not settling his debts.

Carl even said in one update that Chopra used to check his phone at half time to see how his horses had got on and today Chopra admitted it himself.

Such a shame as Chopra was one of my all time favourites.

Annis I am proud to say that this season I have not had to do an update like the ones you speak about as the players and staff are much better behaved than the previous years.

That I believe is down to Malky Mackay and his management style.

It was the players who let us down previously that the fans deserved to know what they were getting up to.

Not at all mate, I have read everything from I am Paul Wilkinson, Alex Armstrong, Sean Connelly and even Dave Jones to Warren Feeney, Adam Matthews and Terry Burton used to give me info.

I still get info as some will know as I have put it out or others who travel on the forum coach when I have my chats.

But tbh mate the footballing side of the club is progressing along the right way, it is not perfect but it is better than it has been so that helps.

I don't give a shit anymore, CCFC has gone for me, still got the season ticket but too far away to attend the games. London wasn't too difficult, Copenhagen meant flying back to London, Alanya and Sofia for the next two years tricky makes, may the force be with you.

There was 1 game last season that Carl had mentioned about Chopra being in Hereford in the early hours before the game in which he came off injured and was out for a few weeks yet that was ridiculed by many on here ...... plus we all know about what went on before the Middlesboro home game last season which ultimately COST us promotion !!!!

I've always said, people don't have to read Carl's updates. The newspapers are worse because Carl's updates were actually more reliable. I always enjoyed reading them and some stuff I let affect my opinion of some people at the club but other stuff I didn't. People can do with them what they choose. I honestly don't see what all the fuss is about with them. I just love the banter that comes in the update topics.

Being serious having lost natural headline makers like Sam, Ridsdale, Chopra, Bothroyd and DJ over recent times, we were bound to hit slow news weeks/months.

In a strange way we shouldn't knock that.

newcastle wanted to send Nile ranger here for a month as he was disciplined and dropped from the first team training squad for various breaches of club discipline.
The offer was turned down because it was thought that his attitude would be detrimental to the rest of the squad.
as it turns out it was a good decision because ranger was arrested sunday for being drunk and disorderly in the early hours of sunday morning and once again breaching the 48 hrs before a game alcohol ban.
as desperate as it might seem to bring players in malky will only fetch in whats right for the squad which is the right way to go bearing in mind some of the awful loans last year
