does anybody know if we will get the uefa place if we end up in the semis with chelsea. man u and man city ,as these would probably have all ready qualified for europe and the carling cup spot woukd be up for grabs for the next team down the chain.

You have to win the cup to get a European spot and if the eventual winners have qualified for Champions League then the place is given to the next lowest side in the Premier League.

Only in the FA Cup does the rule apply that the runners up get the European spot.

With the Carling Cup is it down to the FA or Football League to put a team forward for europe as it's a Football League not FA competition?

its down to the FA and its only the WINNERS that get a Europa League spot. Its only an option if we also get promoted in my opinion.....

Why aren't we allowed in europe if we win a cup?
Derry City play for Rep Ireland when they are from N Ireland. Barcelona represent spain even though they are from catalonia etc etc.
Ok - so these my not be exactly the same to those who want to pick holes. But they are precedents that mean we should be allowed.

to win trophies and have some decent games and trips. you think everyone who competes in these cups are only doin it as they can play in europe if they win. its good enough to win the trophy to be fair.

yes silverware is great you wont see me complain about that
but isnt it a kick in the teeth when you cant take all the spoils because your not an english team

UEFA intervened and said if Cardiff won the competition they would place us in europe despite what the fa says
and maybe we should start competing in the welsh cup for the european place
