I BELIEVE 4-5-1 IS OUR FORMATION

I feel we play best in a 4-5-1 formation

Our main depth is in the Centre of midfield so we may aswell utilise it

Unfortuantly this will see Earnshaw drop down in the pecking order but Mason did everything right to put him self in contention for sunday

Anyone else believe we play best at 4-5-1 or 4-4-2

I agree, midfield last sat and tonight was great. And I think Mason and Miller are both good movers off the ball and could do a similar job as a lone striker?

Still concerned what impact 1 / 2 injuries, perhaps in midfield, would have on the progress being made.

I think with Gestede or Earnshaw a 4-4-2 is better for them. But Miller, Mason and maybe Parkin if it gets to that.

But you are right, the best and most influential players are in Midfield 4-5-1 is best suited for us.

I think the great thing about Malky is, hes not afraid in altering the formation when the need arises. We have seen us play the 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-1-2-1-2 and the 4-5-1. I think it would be stupid for us to stick to one formation, as other managers will send scouts to our games and check out video footages in order to look for weak links. Its time to get them all guessing.

I agree, but you have to remember that if we start using too many different formations, then the players will also be kept guessing and then the team won't be able to gel as well as it could.

I totally agree with you, but I meant to say it would be continously stupid playing the 4-5-1 formation constantly all the time. There maybe times which we need to change things. I do agree what you said that we need the players to gel in regards to playing a particular formation.

Finally for a long time, I'm actually enjoy watching Cardiff play some good football regardless of the results.

It's nice to see a manager who isn't a 4-4-2 dinosour!! Who plays that these days? 4-5-1 (which is the out of possession version of 4-3-3) is the way to go given the strengths and weaknesses of our squad. There were times last season and beyond that screamed out for the useless scouse c*** to play this system. Problem is that 4-4-2 is coaching for idiots and he was a prine buffoon in that department. Ask anyone who knows anything about his coaching prowess. Ironic really that all of our strikers, when fit, except Earnie are well adapted to this formation.

Nothing wrong with 4-4-2 at all, MM has used it plenty of times. People are obsessed with finding a super formation. MM at least gets it and plays the formation depending on who we play. He won't always get it right but will most the time.

Yes definately, we had something like 28 attempts on goal whereas Blackpool didn't have half of that. Shame we couldn't put the result to bed. Before the game I would've taken a draw at Bloomfield Road but after watching the game we should've been the winners

prob our 2 best displays of the season when we have deployed 4-5-1 . SHOULD HAVE BEAT A GOOD BLACK POOL SIDE AND GOT A COUPLE MORE GOALS SATURDAY.
