Cardiff star Aron Gunnarsson insists he has no regrets about shunning a summer switch to the Premier League.
The 22-year-old left Coventry in the summer and opted to move to South Wales.
The Icelander, who helped Cardiff to a 5-3 win over Barnsley at the weekend with two goals, insists he wants to make sure he is ready to make the move to the top-flight.
"It's what I have wanted ever since I was a young boy," said Gunnarsson.
Dream
"It's my dream. When I was 14 I had a short spell with Ipswich, who were in the Premier League at the time.
"There were also one or two other clubs who showed an interest in me before I went to Coventry.
"But it was important to have a stepping stone. I didn't want to go to a Premier League club and spend my time playing in the reserves.
"I would love to go up with this club. Cardiff already feels special to me."Love this player already!

From all the Cov fans i've spoken to they all seem to say the same thing. He was brilliant for them for 6 months then got a bit lazy, missed passes, giving away needless fouls. Let's hope he doesn't get like that and keeps this up because he is playing brilliantly

Could be because Coventry weren't really going anywhere in the league and he wanted out of there, if we stay fighting towards the top then hopefully he won't do the same

Every player says the current club is "special" to him, before they ultimately move on.
There's no loyalty in the game anymore. You've just got to hope they do their best while they're still here!

Heard the same from my work colleague in Coventry.
Most were sad to see him leave and believe MM will sort out the problem after 6 months. Lets hope so.

Spot f*cking on!
I doubt there will ever be one Icelandic player born who's dream it is to play for
Cardiff City
Not knocking Azza at all, he's been brilliant. But if he gets even more brilliant we
are not going to pay him £50k a week are we.
We seem to have a manager who can get the best out of players, and its HIM
thats attracted them here, not the money.
Crack on Gunnarsson - loving it feller!!
