BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS

Sun Oct 23, 2011 6:58 pm

Annis has took his family away for the weekend for his youngest daughters birthday and they went to stay with the Feeney family down at Plymouth, Annis phoned me this morning whilst he was chatting with the Plymouth players over coffee before they started training on Sunday.

He said that it was a proper old fashioned type of club, they were in for training between 9.15am and 12.15pm, they trained at the stadium, all the apprentices at the club cleaned the changing rooms, the managers office plus other areas of the club. The grass roots at the club are what makes the club and everyone is working hard down there to get out of their difficult situation.

Annis was impressed by the set up at Plymouth and the friendliness of all the staff there, he said it was an experience he used to like that was present at City many years ago.

Fair play to Warren he has asked me and my family to go and watch Plymouth on Saturday against Cheltenham, which I look forward to, probably mean spending some money in the shops with Alison though.

Simon Walton said he loved playing at Ninian Park and commented on how intimidating the stadium was.

The top picture is Ben Gibson, nephew of Steve Gibson (Middlesbrough Chairman) he is on loan at Argyle from Boro and Annis said he is a cracking kid.

Plymouth had a crowd of 6,872 yesterday but lost the game 1-0 against Swindon, the Argyle team is made up of many youngsters and they are desperately in need of experience to help them in their fight to stay in the league, good luck Plymouth.

Warren took Annis on a walk for an hour and a half this afternoon over field after field after field, well that's how Annis explained it, Annis fell in a river and his dog was shagged by sheep, you couldn't make it up.

Plymouth are fast becoming a "second team" for me.
My girlfriends from down that way, her father has been to see them many times, and especially with how hard they are fighting to stay alive now. Huge respect for them.
