When we played Brighton in August I parked in the car park by subway, Costa coffee, the casino (around that area), after the game I was left with a parking ticket. Now I ignored this and they also sent me a reminder letter saying I had to pay them £70, I also ignored this. Now yesterday (22/10/2011) I received a letter off creditors saying that the fine has been sold to them, and I either pay them £100 in the next 5 days or legal proceedings will start and we will go to court, the fine could be more than £100 and my credit rating could be affected. Now for my case.
When I came back to my car after the Brighton game there was a ticket on my car, it have my registration number on the ticket, but it also said a silver Nissan, and my car is a silver Corsa. Also the ticket was issued 12 MINUTES !! after i parked the car. Also Costa coffee was closed at the time, anyone in the know, please will you give me some advice on what to do !

It's never happened to me, but surely the adminisitive error on the ticket would be a clear case for the claim to be scrapped even if they dragged your arse to the old bailey! If you did end up in court (which judging by old threads you won't) you could just shrug your shoulders and say 'I don't own a nissan'

no, by law they are not even parking tickets, they are invoices. Totally unenforceable.....they dress the tickets to look like official ones from the police/council (which you have to pay) purely to scare people. i never pay in private pay and display car parks either, just a big con, esp the one down coney beach in porthcawl, bastards

Thats less clear. A pay and display clearly places the onus on you to buy a ticket and display it. This gives you protection as it clearly records what time you bought a ticket. The only NHS ones now are at the Heath, and they do look favourably on you if you have a genuine reason for not displaying. Unofficially, within reason, they will let you off for a first offence.
The trouble at Car Parks such as the Asda at Leckwith is that they can say you were illegally parked and you have no proof otherwise. Ask them to show you the CCTV of your arrival at the Car Park - they must have that somewhere.

As already explained the Debt Collection Agency will never pursue you through the courts for the money they have demanded, it is all part of the scare tactics they use to frighten you into paying up.
If you wanted to you could Email the DDCA and inform them you dispute owing the money (you don't have to produce any evidence to do this) and by law they must cease chasing you for this so called debt,
