i gotta say that was one of the most enjoyable games i've been to for years. some of the football we played was sublime and our movement off the ball was incredible. barnsley were poor but they've won their last two games. man of the match for me for was joe mason tho mcphail, whitts and gunarsson ran him close. i thought eberything joe mason done was brilliant, his movement off the ball and football brain for a young kid is fantastic, i was very surprised how well he played with his back to goal. mcphail loved playing there today and it was like having two peter whittinghams on the pitch! i also thought kenny miller looked very sharp before he got injured and could have scored a second if it wasnt for an unbelievable save from their keeper. shame we conceded two late goals and though it needs to be addressed i'm convinced it was only because malky brought earnie on which changed our shape dramatically!

Your only as good as what your up against and lets be real barnsley was the worst team we have had down here for years yesterday they was f*cking shocking plus they couldnt string 3passes together and when they did it come back to us so im not knocking 50 off the wrist yet as i know if they can score 3 past us after playing that pittyfull well lets just say its gonna be a long hard season for sure of rebuilding

just stating a fact and even the likes of Ian Walsh clearly stated their worries about the amount of goals against us live on the radio today.
A) ian walsh is a tit and his opinion means nothing to me!
B) why were you listening to the game on the radio? didn't you go again?

Well Barnsley have beaten Reading and taken a point away at Brum and Derby this year and they also drew with leicester and beat burnley so personally i think they cant be that bad! i dont think they were brilliant by any means yesterday but i dont think that detracts from our performance in an way. Some of the football we witnessed yesterday was superb until mcphail went off. We rarely witnessed football that good last season and that is not a dig at last years team but a compliment to yesterdays players. i have never said we'd get promoted and to be honest i couldn't care less if we do or not, i'm just happy that i witnessed that performance yesterday. Malky took mcphail off cos the game was won, we subsequently lost our shape and without mason up top we had nobody to hold the ball up and bring others into play. We also lost mcphail who was awesome yesterday and this allowed barnsley back into the game. I do think the defence needs sorting as i said in the original post but personally i wouldn't use the fact that barnsley scored two late goals as evidence for it

To be fair I agree with Mid-field General, yes we scored 5 goals, but there will be quicker centre back and better defenders to stop us, but we've now conceded 9 goals in our last 3 games, this really really needs to be sorted out

SHUT up! You're doing everyone's head in! Would you rather concede 3 goals and get 3 points or 0 goals and get 1 point?

A) he knows far more than you or many others on this board about the game.
B) I was working unfortunately yesterday.
well you keep deriving your opinions from ian walsh and i'll keep actually going to the games and saying what i see with my own eyes

Yes, very entertaining game and I eally enjoyed it, nice to score five, work still needs to be done with the partnership at the back, hopefully we will get the right combination soon.

Yeah, I can imagine any work you do being unfortunate - constituency work was it?

1st goal was a big deflection altho Hudson gave away the free kick again ..... 2nd and 3rd goals came after Mc Phail went off and the shape of the team was forced to change , game was won by then anyway . By all accounts the last 2 Peterboro goals should not have counted either ??
