hes a strange player he started shit when he came here then he was awsome when we took captaincy of him then this year hes shit again i still think hes a good player maybe take captaincy of him again because maybe its too much pressure for him

answer to both questions - yes , it seems he had an ok season last year shocking before that, now back to.. shite

rubbish.............he's a good defender, didn't seen anything wrong today, perhaps he alone should have blocked Drinkwaters free kick or marked the players who scored instead of other people doing it. He wins all his headers, didnt see him get turned or anything today, it was a poor end to the game purely down to consistency!

It's no coincidence that his form has been affected by the captaincy. I'd say give the captaincy to Miller and take the pressure off Hudson. He was immense when he wasn't captain.

What do u think??? Managers might give the club captain as his off field duties etc are very good, but on the pitch he is not a leader! Just look at the Ipswich game not 1 of back for talked, this showed wen Hudson and kev going up for same header, this is Sunday league, need proper leader

I think the other players respect him, and he has no different weaknesses to any of our other central defenders.

The diamond 442 system we play can put extra pressure on the centre halves. The full backs are encouraged to get forward to provide width for the attacks, and if they lose possession up-field a sudden break can leave the centre halves exposed.

For most of today we played a 451, and the extra midfield player offered the defence some protection. It was only after McPhail went off and we reverted to a 442 that we looked vulnerable defensively.

Well, its a theory anyway.

Ok I understand he is well respected by others but u need more than that we need some who can do everything. Talk CONSISTENTLY through out the game do his job whilst organising others around them, giving a player a blocking if needed! As I said nothing against Hudson as the whole back four is not like it for me, perfect example was darren purse great organiser and talker

a bit of a unpredictable player...you don't really know how he's gonna player, he either good in one game and a donkey in the other..
