" DOES ANYONE REALLY WANT HIM ? "

Sat Oct 22, 2011 6:36 am

Yes Dave Jones will be paid by City till next may/June 2012, but City would sort out a deal if Jones gets a new job.
Dave Jones said 2 weeks ago to Carl on the phone that his agent is touting him around.
Jones has already applied for the Bristol C,Nott's Forest and Pompey jobs, yet they dont seem interested in him.

Jones use to make out we were lucky to have him here

As everyone knows I wanted him gone for over 4 years, but does any club out there want this man ?

Annis,

Clearly no one does want him, He made out we were lucky to have him so we wouldnt see through his shit or bust plan

Now many teams have seen through him and believe its not what they were looking for, I mean, If he can nearly take a promotion pushing club to the prem, then surely any mid/lower table team would snap him up right? WRONG!

Sorry Dave thanks for your time, But I think its time to practise your 3 wood even more! Because the only team that wants you is the Vale golf club over 50's!

Remember no one wanted DJ, he was washed up, we gave him his chance back in to football, he returned it with nothing but arrogance and belittling of the our football fans in South Wales. He was given more money than any previous manager in the history of Cardiff City,

Annis

I think somebody will want him but at nothing like the wages we allegedly are paying him for his gardening leave so i think we are stuck with a debt that should be going towards a quality players wages

Andy,

We could get a quality player for his wages, of course there is always going to be some club who will take him, but def not on his current wages and it will be very interesting which club does eventually take him on.

All the supporters I know that are fans of the clubs that are looking for or have been looking for a manager did not want DJ when his name was mentioned.

DJ can be as stubborn as he likes and keep on going about how he nearly got us there. The thing is those who know about football and are in a position to have who they want look at DJ and see a manager who was given everything and just simple could not deliver.

Last season after every game I would drive back to Derby and listen to Robbie Savage on 606. When Bellamy came to us Savage said Cardiff should go up as Champions. Half way through the season he said if Cardiff dont go up it will be a massive failure. Savage might not be everyones cup of coffee, same can be said for that Claridge guy, but chaps like those know their football and when they make statements like that you have to take it on board. Cardiff were a massive failure last season and the buck stops with the manager.

People can stick up for him and say he will not go because of the wages we are paying him. Even so take that away and does anyone really think another club will want him after last season?

St Johnstone are looking for a new manager

FC Ulan Bataar are looking for a manager. Lots of wide
open spaces there for his horses to stretch their legs too.

I've taken the liberty of tying Dave Jones up and gagging him

He should reach Mongolia by next Friday

Unless Somali pirates intercept him, as ironically,
Somali Rangers FC are also on the lookout for a new manager

Lloyds of London are panicking, cos if they take Dave Jones on
there will need to be a lot more kidnappings etc to cover his wages

No Annis I'm not surprised at all that DJ dosn't appear wanted by other clubs because of the huge failure under his control at our club last season.

If he had gone, as he should have after failing by 1 goal to make the playoffs, he may have had an element of credibility but after last years failure he has none.

Football managers are like financial investments there are times when the stock values are high and others when they are worthless. After the FA Cup Final appearance DJ stock was high maybe even a year later when we failed to make the playoffs, but losing to Blackpool and then completely folding like we did last season has left his stock worthless.

Someone may take a risk on him, a team who are desperate like Pompey, but only on a fraction of what he has been used to earning.

Apparently he came close to signing a contract, he just couldnt get his hands out of his pockets to sign it  :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I rated Dave Jones during his time at Cardiff, i defended him while others were having a go on various other messageboards. I really thought he would deliver us Premier League football but it just wasnt to be, Dave Jones has fallen on his own sword in my opinion and i actually believe that he started to believe his own hype about being a great manager although in my mind for the last 2 years of his reign at Cardiff i suspected that if Cardiff could have afforded to pay him off they would have got shot of him.The guy worked miracles for us, establishing us as a solid Championship outfit, FA Cup Finalists, Play-off finalists and another shot at Promotion last season that again wasn't to be and i'll always be grateful for that but in the end you just knew it was time for him to go.

I'd be suprised if any chairman took a punt on him now to be honest , if you look back at his time at Cardiff there were rumours of lack of discipline in the squad, outdated training methods, lack of tactical nous, his man management style in general and who can forget his infamous Buffoon rant . Dave Jones had the backing he wanted and he just couldn't hack it and its just as simple as that. Players running down their contracts was the norm for this manager and we lost some very good players due to his incompetance and who can blame them for leaving, perhaps they had just had enough of the guy and the way he character assassinated poor Adam Matthews left a bitter taste in the mouth of most people. The playing squad when he left was a disgrace, we were worse off than when he arrived, although i still sometimes think to myself how he would have coped with the squad that MM inherited, who would he have bought/loaned etc..but its best not to think like that and i'm 130% behind Malky Mackay.

I wish him luck finding a new job but in my opinion he has poisoned his own chalice. He can't/won't adapt to new ideas and this type of manager will soon become extinct... like the dinosaurs.

football is a small community annis and prospective employers would know all about his preference for golfing over coaching.
They will all know about the lack of training being done prior to the middlesborough game including his lack of discipline where players are concerned.
Most importantly of all he does not believe in or give youth a chance which with the way finances are these days most clubs at championship level are looking to their acadamies for players to come through to the first team.
You are right when you say cardiff brought him back from the football wilderness and i think thats where he will remain now as plenty of jobs have come and gone without him getting a sniff

He is a good manager, but his wages maybe a stumbling block. Especially for smaller clubs like Bristol.
