The Singing Section has it worked.

Fri Oct 21, 2011 8:35 pm

I transferred into the singing section pardon the pun :) but if truth be told I cant honestly say that area in the Canton is any different to the other areas. Im not sure what others think who may have also gone there think. Ideally what would be good is if we could get some flags going like wisla krakow had yesterday. Not the giant style ones you see at the front of the Kop but the slightly smaller ones, a few of those going would be awesome.

It has just meant that the stewards have been able to become more oppressive in other areas of the ground, like the Ninian. I think the atmospheres suffered for it.

Its helped very slightly but in comparison to other teams the atmosphere at the CCS is still very flat. Just seems like no one can be arsed

The ironic thing which seems to be double standards is that the away fans who are metres from a zero tolerance approach by our stewards seem free to stand and do what the hell they want.

I know its like they are totally against us having a sing song of our own. Takes the piss, like a rugby crown atm

total failure.. from the family stand i can just about hear the canton and by the looks of things not that many ovetr there actually sing.. put the singers next to or near the away fans and the atmosphere will rise :ayatollah:

thats rubbish look at the Britannia Stadium considered one of the best atmospheres in the premiership and probably England and they have a completely isolated away end so the home fans are a fair distance away from away fans doesnt seem to have affected their atmosphere
The issue is the fans just dont sing anymore dont know why but they dont
so you can blame it on whatever you want but thats the facts

Annis have to agree on Carling Cup! :)

I been to the past 2 carling cup fixtures and the Canton is booming! :ayatollah: When we have smaller crowds we generate a lot more noise!

I think Morceambe got a newish ground and they said teams have been coming to their ground thinking its their ground the way the fans generate noise and how they play so some of the fans done a bit of work in the ground alongside others trying to make it a ground that teams would be scared to come to!

putting up flags etc to make the ground look more City is a great idea in my opinion!

Well, when we played them in the cup it was shit, but I digress.....Yes, the stand is isolated. However, from about 3/4 of the way up that stand, you're closer to Stoke fans than away fans are to Cardiff fans at CCS

how do you figure that out
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Britannia_Stadium.jpg
id say they are pretty far apart on both sides and im not sure how big our segregation area is in the CCS but it aint that big
no just trying to blame your own poor performances to anything you can
but the fact his half the fans dont sing
of the half that do 3/4 of them cant be bothered to learn the words just humming along to it and quickly give up
so in reality of the singing section of the canton stand only an 1/8th of the fans sing

Firstly, most matches don't such a gap in the middle of the stand.

Secondly, just because the corner isn't filled in doesn't make it any further from the Stoke fans. Our corners are filled in, but between the away fans and 118, the segregation line is at least the same size as the gap in that picture.

Thirdly, what on earth are you on about 'your own poor performance'? Unless you're stalking me and analysing what I do during the match, then surely you have no place to say that.

Fourthly, the Britannia is known for being a tight and compact ground, albeit without filled in corners.

Your first point ill concede maybe the gap does get smaller with more away fans
Your second point yes it does make a big gap on the left is a huge scoreboard and on the right is the tunnel and all the changing facilities, our away section is built into a corner so its not the same size by a long shot
Your third point im not having a go at you personally im talking collectively
Your fourth point when Stoke increased the capacity of the stadium they were concerned they would lose the famous atmosphere but the fans stuck together and never let it go so the clubs fears were a legitimate concern the fans saved it
so id say Cardiff sort it out stop blaming it on everything and anything and use you lungs and get those chants going

Its a fact in my opinion, when our home crowds are smaller, the fans that are left seem to make much more of an effort to make an atmosphere :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

agree why do people think city fans will sign more just because we are sat next to the away fans,we should sign no matter where we are in the ground to me its just own to having a all seater stadium and people who sign jut aint able to get together in the same section of seats

i agree... even after a goal its still pretty flat.. .it normally rakes abit of feistyness on the pitch for us to voice up...

and the away fans def help to..

what excatly are we signing ??

anyway back to the topic of singing, i agree with some people on here that its just the fact that people cant be bothered to sing. Moving the "singing section" to the away stand will kind of make of difference but won't make a huge difference imo and i agree with Jinks on this and we should be singing no matter where you sit.

to be honest the atmosphere and pricing are the 2 main reasons why i dont attend many games anymore, a lot of others i know too. i cba to waste £25/30 + travel/drink/food etc to sit on my arse for 90mins in silence sat next to a bunch of moaners. they have successfully helped disband and ruin the crowds and atmosphere they created. people are way too scattered about and i dont want to stand up and sing on my own like a lemon while 3/4 people around me are silent and sat down. you cant carry on because you either cant hear/feel stupid/or told to sit down or move because others want to sit and be quiet. it does need to be addressed. i agree even after scoring we have 5 minutes of a the usual songs and everyone reverts to sitting down in silence again, nobody seems up for it anymore and its a far cry from growing up on the grange end and its really gutting as thats what made me fall in love with football/city and made me go all those years. ive really lost interest now and probably excite myself more following it over ccfc player!
