Cardiff V Barnsley 2003

Anyone else remember that game Barnsley lads turned up in force and caught the city lads off guard that day. I remember strolling around town prior to kick off as left doing overtime and at 11.00am seeing loads of stone island boys grouping in town, I actually thought they were city !!!!! it emerges one of their lads was killed or something and as a result the Barnsely lads wanted to do something to remember him by and had one of their largest firms !!! it was all a bit mental !!!

Yep fair play they have a tight tidy firm when they put it together. Think it was anniversary of the lad's death and I believe they make a day of it whoever they play, just happens it was us that year and few more wanted some of it. They wanted it during second half and 80% of Block A left to have it on too. Funny when you think back

In the morning they were all in the walkabout, we gathered opposite outside sams bar, just before the coppers started bringing them out to put on a bus the coppers baton charged us forcing us into sams bar where they locked us in. As the Barnsley lot started coming out some of ours started putting tables and chairs through the windows of sams bar so the coppers had to let us out. I think it went off further up town as they had refused to get on the bus and made off and a load of ours went looking for them, mad day.

It may have been when I seen them re grouping top of Queen Street,

i remember walking down st marys st and seeing the barnsley mob surrounded by ob, waiting for a bus to come and take them to NP.

If i remember rightly alot of their mob were picked off near ninian park,like someone said mad day

The only thing I would say is that them turning up wasnt so 'unexpected'.

We were in the POW at first, about 20 handed, CT was going mental telling everyone how pissed off he was because he had told people they were coming all week, but nobody had listened, (remember Hull..)

Cardiff Busses turned up to take the 80 odd Barnsley to the ground but they got out of the back through a fire exit and some of them ended up by Oniels and some further down the road who came off second best.
