REALLY AM CONFUSED RIGHT NOW

since i joined this forum there have been many posts which regard dave jones....sam hammam.

alot of people seemed to of hated Dave and loved Sam. which is fair as it an a opinion. however what i cant seem to understand is :


people say, sam hammam came into the club, with a "dream" and started that dream....he took loans out of his own company to spend on the club (which in my opinion tells me, he knew that if one day he left, he could still take money from the club via interest from the loans)....he spent big, and the end result was us being forced to sell off "earnie, gabbs, collins, ect ect).. and theres also a big debt the club has hanging over its head thanks to sam...yet people on here still regard him as a hero or a good guy fair enough

enter dave jones....came when there was no squad, and we where in a financial mess. he sold off several key players to bring money into the club, he got us some really big names, and he got us a team which other clubs fear playing. he took us to the bring of the premiership, and a fa.cup final, and the day he left this club was a lot better off than when he joined.

now fans are saying "dave jones was usless, he over spent and couldnt take us over the hurdle ect ect........but sam hammam in my opinion got us into the debt situation years before, he over spent money we didnt have, which was loaned to the club by his own company riduclas.

in my opinion, if it wasnt for dave, the malaysian owners might never of even considered touching cardiff city....because we could be lingering in league 1.....same place we could be if sam never took over the club

so my question is, why do some have love for sam and hate for jones

i agree with your opinion and so do many, but you will find, as common with most things....

that alot more people will moan about something they dont like than praise something they do like.

i think SAM was integral to where we are today, as was risdale if im honest.

and i think DJ did the best he could and secured us as play off contenders and a team to be respected.

I think the main thing that DJ failed was he was letting the lunatics run the Asylum..

From the title i thought you were about to come out!

I think you make some fair points here, I think it is just a manager is seen as more influentiual to the team than a chairman/owner. Obviously Chelsea are ignored with this stance

it does annoy me, how people can praise hammam and then put down all the work and effot jones did.

and the most common one is "people always say dave did this and got us here but he had the money....."

the thing is though, after all the work he did, he earned that money to spash on the team in my opinion


sam went and threw millions at the club....then when he left we were forced to pick up the pieces as fans, and had to watch "earnie, thorne, kavs, gabbs, collins, ect all leave our club. yet people say if it wasnt for sam we would be in league 2, league one at best

same could be said if he jones didnt do what he did

Jones finest hour at the club was his first year where he turned it around.

The following years he whinged left,right and centre but his complaints were answered. He complained about the strength of squad he had to work with. His last 2 seasons he was given a good squad, even under Ridsdale he was allowed to spend aka Chopra. Lsst season just look who he was allowed to bring in. Infact shall we also look at Janauary where before the transfer window opened he said he needed another 5 players to get us promoted although he said he had a squad to get us automatic that summer. In the end Jones was given everything and he simply failed.
