It's very sad as airlines would like easyjet would much prefer Cardiff.

We have the long runway unlike Bristol as well. Some excellent staff in Cardiff as well

Its so bad that I feel that there's an agenda here to make Cardiff Airport such a bad airport that it actually closes down

You won't be the first to suggest it may be a tesco within 5 years

I agree, it's a shambles ... how NOT to run a business. Of course they don't get much support from the WAG either - another bunch of amateurs.
Seems that the airport is owned by a Spanish company....enough said i think.

It annoys me as its a job I love and it has massive potential, it only needs some love and investment and it's a goldmine.

To think we have the BA base at cwl yet no flights :?
I've even heard a few years ago Richard Brandon bought all the land around it and planned to make it the virgin base after his plans went tits up but couldn't finalise it.

Re: Cardiff Airport

There is nothing wrong with the staff in Cardiff Airport, they are all nice, its just...the building seems old fashioned on the inside, or it did the last time I was there.

I went from Bristol last Easter and The Airport interior is a million miles ahead of Cardiff aswel, Theres no wonder that people preffer Bristol.

We need Ryanair or someone like that just too act as a catylist as the guy in the link in the poast above says

I agree about the interior but that won't stop people buying cheap holidays.
The staff this year at Cardiff have been the best in years and passengers have noticed but it's more flights they need.

Cardiff had Ryanair and let them go..... I don't see them coming back.

As sad as it is me and 8 other colleagues are going to Amsterdam via Bristol because it's cheaper. Klm have a direct route from Cardiff and are top quality airline... But people want it cheap and go to Bristol because they have compition

Yet no-one in the Assembly ever pipes up about it bearing in mind the damage its doing to the South Wales economy. Once again its typical of no business know how within the WAG

They are too busy deciding if the moranic electorate can decide whether to smack there childs backside when they are unruly or if they really must beat them within an inch of their life. Oh and they are probably deciding if in 2012 the carrier bag cost should go up to 6p in line with the consumer price index

Re: Cardiff Airport

this to me should have been priority No1 for the wag and the second should have been the cost of the seven bridge wag should be looking at every avenue to lower or do away with this entry tax to wales.

Bearing in mind that its suppose to serve the Welsh Nation how on earth does it get away from charging the airlines the most out of all the UK airports with regards to landing fees..? Surely the more sensible way forward is to charge cheap landing fees to attract the airlines like Bristol who seemed to have kicked Cardiff airport back decades.

In the past I have sent a letter the then transport minister of the Welsh Assembly about this issue but as he is the same person who put the Airports train station a mile away from the airport there isn't any wonder I didn't have no sense out of him at the time.

What do you expect when you have egg people running it, they have done the same to their other airport Belfast International which has lost half of its business to Belfast City airport because it is so much cheaper. It hurts me to say that when I travel home which is approx 10-12 times a year I will not use either Belfast Int or Cardiff again although I have to be honest Cardiff is a great airport but its priced itself out of the market.

Re: Cardiff Airport

It is another way of making the Welsh reliant on the English, they grow stronger and we get weaker, when I have flown from Bristol there are as many Welsh on the flight as English, and why should we have to travel across the bridge during these financially difficult times?

Come on the Welsh government stand up for the rights of your people.

Re: Cardiff Airport

Adam I have always flown from Cardiff but last holiday due to cheaper flights and cheaper parking we flew from Bristol , Cardiff is pricing itself out and I too have written to my local AM and the Transport Minister at the WAG !!!

Cardiff airport is a shambles. Says it all when more Welsh people fly out og Gatwick than Cardiff.

This is where I will agree with everyone else. The whole structure of the running of the airport, from the framework between governent and the airport, are a shambles. It's a complete mess.
