Telephone interview Please help!!!

Evening fellow bluebirds,

I have a telephone interview coming up for British gas. And I was wondering if anyone has any good advice, hints or tips to share with me. I have spent the last 10 years in the armed forces and I have no experience with these kind of interviews so any help would be much appreciated.

Make sure u research info on British Gas. Be very calm if you don't know the answer to a question ask them to repeat it as it will give u few seconds to think. At the end of the call make sure you ask them some questions about the role, when if I am successful would I be starting etc, shows your keen. Have notes on paper in front of u to prompt u. be really positive but not don't be cocky. In sure u will be fine. Good luck.

I doubt very much they will ask about British Gas at all.

They will ask questions like what was your best achievement in life.
Give examples of when you helped someone.
Give examples of when you worked as a team member.
What are your personnel ambitions.
Plus more of the same.

They will of course be listening out for telephone manner, politeness, telephone voice, vocabulary etc.
Relax, be upbeat and jolly and don't sound miserable.

You are going to be in a position of power as they won't be able to see you.

First of all, prepare good answers to the likely questions and pin them along with positive talking points to your wall close to where you will be taking the call and can access them.

Stand up whilst you are talking, it will make you feel and sound more confident.

If you can, get somebody to do a mock phone screen with you.

Needless to say....speak clearly.
