laptop help

the wireless connection on my laptop has gone down. it was working fine this morning then went off?????
i have gone into the network connections and it is showing as disabled. clicked on the enable this device option but still no joy.
anyone have any ideas how to switch the wireless setting back on?
any help will be more than welcome.

yes mate that's still on it showing the bluetooth icon but not the wireless 1.

no i aint yet Nukes i'm on the p.c. so still in touch with the world
as i said i was on it this morning went to go back on and it told me to fuk off
dont like the pc much though as you can't see the t.v from where you got to sit prefer the laptop on sat on the sofa

now your going a bit to far for me
when i 1st bought the kids a p.c and then the laptop i didn't even know how to turn them on.
if it is a simple job i can do following simple instructions i am willing to give it a go if some1 tells me what to do

Try turning your router off for a while (as long as 30 minutes) and re-connect again....

Alternatively, try doing a 'System Restore' in the Control Panel and take the computer back a few days (it won't affect any newly downloaded files etc)

I got a white box at the top left hand corner of the screen. Only there on Annis's forum and on the top message. Scroll down and its gone. Restarted computer but its still there. When i open a message it is still there but as i scroll down it stays with the first message

It's also not happening on my laptop.

It may be a windows update has broken it.

Check to see if any updates were installed this morning - if so roll them back.

How this is done will depend on ur operating system (XP/Vista/7)

just tried it again. 1st attempt logged on all fine loaded the forum web page and the wireless went down. all the while the p.c was also on with no problems
2nd attempt logged on opened up a couple of browsers and seemed fine
now i'm staying on the p.c while my 12 yr old son has the laptop to see how it goes. hopefully be ok.

Have you got a virus ......joking aside mate, you need to talk to Merlin (he's the geek amongst us, only kidding Merls )...but he would be your best bet mate. I really feel for you though, having to crank your neck to watch the tv instead of just lazing on the couch and raising your head to have a gander.

It might be possible that your WI-Fi modem got some problem. Some times there are some driver problem for Wi-Fi. In My Toshiba Satellite Laptop it would happen so many times. When i ask the service center about this problem they told me that if this kind of problem accrue again you have to update driver or reinstall it.
