Our Defence!

With the signing of ben turner and the amount of options we have in defence at the moment, who would your starting back four be? Personally I think although they've had a decent start to the season I think both gerrard and hudson's places are both severely under threat at the moment. Though I think hudson is underrated I think the prospect of turner and blake is possibly the best option we have (especially if darcy continues his international form in the the next two walea games.) I think turner is a player who will attack the ball and judging by his size will prove more than a match for players like steve howard who have caused us so much problems in the past few years. Meanwhile darcy's pace was proved in the recent games against leicester and would be vital in dealing with players like makail-smith.
The only reservation I have with darcy ia that he seems to be guilty of one lapse per game but then again so does gerrard! Perhaps if turner is a talker alongside him darcy can get rid of this out of his game altogether.

our defence does look steadier this season but I think the main reason for this is not because our defence has improved but rather that our midfield has improved. Whereas last season they were left totally exposed at times, this season the addition of kiss and gunnarson have stopped midfield runners.

Another option would be to move kev alongside turner and sign a full back with more ability in the final third. What are your thoughts?

Gerrard and Blake a couple of years ago were unbeatable

Have'nt seen enough of Turner to pick him, looks a lump though

Its so tempting to say two big lads will be more formidable. But Hudson
and Gerrard are both prone to get caught out for pace over 5 yards.

So I agree with Blake and Turner, see how they get on. Darcy, for all his
faults, reads the game very well
