Oohh Aahh Stantona.

Tue Oct 04, 2011 10:25 pm

Just came back from holiday in Florida and read the Phil Stant Autobiography. What a brilliant read that was, well recommended. Nothing but respect for the man. For those of you that are old enough to remember him playing for us, he's the type of player we could do with right now, don't you think.
It's interesting to read that during his spell with us under Rick Wright, the club was fighting in the lower reaches of the football league, with gates of 2-3,000 but we still had all the negativity and mystery of how the club was being run and financial instability and still it feels that way, 18 years down the line.

WHO NEEDS CANTONA WHEN WE GOT STANTONA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We very rarely had 2 to 3k under Rick Wright. He led a bit of a renaissance and had crowds up quite considerably. Before Rick Wright came along and then afterwards under Kumar the crowds dropped a bit to the 2/3k mark.
