Dave Jones?

Mon Oct 03, 2011 1:08 pm

I just had a text off my mate who is a Bristol fan, he thinks old Davey boy is an early fav for the Bristol post. What do you think? I said his wages would be silly but has he got any more offers on the table?

Does he need offers? he is being paid well and doesnt have to work.
If i was him id sit on my ass for the rest of the season and go play golf and spend time with the family.

Thats what i said he is getting paid. He seems to think its getting settled this week. We shall see if anything happens, be good for us free up some wages.

Why would we settle? I dont see the point in that unless he is willing to take less to settle now which would be good news.

Looks like he might of been right then. Still find it hard to believe as Bristol have set amounts they will not go over in terms of wages and Dave must be after a lot. Only time will tell.

Because if he waits any longer no club will come in for him in the future.

All he achieved at us was turn a sleeping giant that was struggling into a medium championship club. Yes he saved us from going down, personally I reckon their were a few managers about then that could have done that, and established us as a championship team. Thing is we were that is the 70s and should have remained there. However we did not because we had a board of directors that did not want us going that step further. We paid the penalty and got caught out by progression from other clubs that over took us. We had to wait 20 odd years before we had a change of attitude at board level and that came from a man called Sam.

Don't give me the Dave Jones got us to the final, if you are introduce Ridsdale to that argument. The reason we got to that final was we got lucky. If we are honest with yourselves we should take a close look at that game and work out Jones attitude from it. Putting it in terms that all of us can understand, Jones bottled it by not playing Ramsey and for the next 3 years we witnessed that factor over and over again.

People say I should get over Jones. I say bollocks ot that why he is still on our payroll. I say to Jones take the Wurzels job, take your miserable spirit of failure with you and give us a break. If you dont get the job now you never will get a chance again. No other club has shown interest in you because your record is is of a bottler. Your only achievement here was saving us going down and thats why the Wurzels are looking at you. Its called the last chance saloon Jones so do us all a favour here and just take it.
