VINCENT TAN HERE FOR GOOD!!!

Sun Oct 02, 2011 7:34 am

Brilliant news!!!

A bloke who lived round the corner from me was home last week. He
was visiting his mam. He is apparently something to do with Beryani
Corporation. Some legal stuff (he's quite posh  )

I was chatting to him in the pub (he noticed my City Tee shirt).. in his
words.. The boardroom over there now has Cardiff City memorabilia on
the walls, and Cardiff City ARE part of a long term strategy re: Europe..
But possibly just as important.. Tan loves having 'his own' Club :D

I should point out he admitted he has nothing to do with the Cardiff City
side of things. I mentioned to him about a percieved lack of investment
here. His words "Tan will never throw money into a bucket full of holes!"

He elaborated, saying that VT's business strategy has always been to work
from the bottom up, lay the foundations, strengthen from within and then
expand. Thats what he's doing here. He laughed when I asked if he was
ready to walk. He said Tony Fernandez has got a Premiership Club, and Tan
has an ego too. "Your in safe hands" he said (in a posh voice)

Chuffed i was :ayatollah:

on a plus side thats good signs that they are here for the long haul.. but without doubt we def need 1 or 2 loan players.. we now do not have any strikers available.. i was chatting with gestade before the southampton game and he says around 2-3 weeks he will be out for.. earnie maybe back for next league game but as u could see yesterday when miller got inj we had no option but to bring on a 17 yrd old midfielder.. (all be it a pretty good one) we really are at the bare bones now...

Very much bare bones. Thank f**k for the International break. Its difficult to believe
that VT would spend all that dough on the artificial heating and then turn round and
tell Malky to go f**k himself over funds for new players. With the Club starting to look
so much healthier all round its hard to believe nobody would back the manager. So I
tend to think Malky really couldnt get the players he was looking for, if thats the case
then its his decision, his gamble and the buck stops with Monsieur Mackay If it all goes
tits up. But I have faith in him. Two weeks from now we should be back at full strength!

Crossing everything here like

Of course Tan will be here long term - won't establish a large presence in Malaysia overnight.

It's still nothing more than a business deal.

I wasnt/am not a doubter. Plenty have reason to be after the last few years.
The only underlying thing i got was Tan takes his time, no quick fixes kind
of thing. frustrating right now with all our injuries :( But how many times
worse could it be? Maybe HE'S frustrated too and is wondering why Malky is
holding back. None of us really know.

Is Malky holding back?

It's clear Malky will only bring in players he feels will add to the squad - unlike Jones with JLS, Bywater, Brown et al.

Gestede, Earnie weren't serious, long term injuries - should be back after the international break.

Bring a striker in earlier this week, then we'd be paying 93 days wages, with a 2 week break slap bang during that period. And then when Gestede and Earnie are back, that player would have to be a fairly clear starter - otherwise wasting money on a loan player to fill in for one game in particular.

Based upon the players Mackay has brought in - and let's remember people slated Gestede for only having played lower league French football without being a goalscorer - I've every confidence in Mackay's judgment so far.

Thats my point mate. Everyone is questioning why the Malaysians arent
backing him. But another scenario could well be that Tan is frustrated
that Malky hasnt got anyone in, same as the rest of us. Malky wears
the trousers regards this football team. So far he's played a blinder. :ayatollah:

Thats the best assessment I've read of the potential loan signings scenario. Its embarrassing sometimes to read some of the posts on here saying Tan is not backing Malky etc etc.

Malky has said himself it has to be the right player, and he's even mentioned he's turned someone down. The imoatience of some is where the negative atmosphere that sometimes surrounds our club is generared from.

Be greatful we have a long term strategy with a beaut of a young manager, and now a security of owners within our club we haven't benefitted from for years. Speculating on whether he's being backed or stating Tan is not putting up the readies is not only wide of the mark imo (Malky has signed 10 or so quality players) but is just an easy negative point to throw out there that goes against the factual grain. All my opinions of course.

I am going with the Malky waiting for the right targets theory on the basis he spent £750k end of August on Turner when he have enough defenders to cover three teams!

My point is if that was what money he had left surely he would have spent it on a forward? :?:

We need two forwards and a winger by the next time we play with Conway, Rudy, Taylor etc back as well things could get interesting...

He wanted Turner.

Perhaps he genuinely missed out on the strikers he was out for
or is hanging on for that one player who will light this team up!!
