" I WOULD OF LIKED "

Fri Sep 30, 2011 5:30 pm

I Would of liked to have seen at least 3 loan players and I feel for Malky, he cant keep performing miracles, his budget on players wages were already way below what Dave Jones was given. Malky has been working 24/7 to bring players in, but of course clubs wanted us to pay a big percentage of their wages, plus loan fees. I honestly am disappointed as Malky went for 6 players,if only he had more in his budget or seen as we are going places more was made available. Also in the transfer deadline Malky should have been given more, then he would not have been scratching around for loan players. Just my opinion of course.

I am worried because these players and are manager are given their all, they will def need support to keep us in the top 6.

Annis I thought he looked a little tired in his press conference this morning, obviously he has been burning the midnight oil trying to get players in.

Must say though he was in good humour with lots of banter between him and the Journo's. Top Top guy is Malkay Mackay in my opinion.

agree,

i also thought we would have had at least 2 loans by now ... malky deserves to be fully backed in order to do the job ...

hes a top guy though and the work ethic and team spirit are showing to come good, however this can only last so long.. any more injuries or suspensions and we are knackered..

Re: " I WOULD OF LIKED "

Fri Sep 30, 2011 5:37 pm

By the sounds of it they dont want to pay wages now for the international break....by that time we may have most players back.

I guess the less we spend on loans now the more in the budget for Jan?

Im just pleased for once it seems we are sticking to a budget and now throwing ourselves into further and further debt.

Gary, Malky has been working 24/7 on and off the field, I hope he gets the support he deserves from them above. We potentially have great manager to lead us, if given the tools to work with. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I seen the entire squad and management today and have to say they all looked so fresh, friendly, happy. Malky looked in great form even though I didnt get to speak with him. Massive difference from last season in every way from the top to the bottom :ayatollah: .

The PA woman (I think it was) was lovely and :love7:

A billionaire chairman investing into a club with the aim of getting us into the premier league and sustaining a place in that league, therefore making massive profit margins. I can understand in that case why he falls short of giving the extra cash flow to the manager when we are evidentally player better than expected and could challenge more than we thought this season. 3 players were already needed before our injuries, now it's a bit desperate if I'm honest.

Don't get it.

They have said from the start the aim was to try and make the club self sufficient and that it would be tough times ahead.
EVERYONE was delighted with this when they took over after the mess of the last few years. now like modern day players we have become greedy and want more and more. For me the Malaysians success has been shown by the fact we arent selling every asset and not having HMRC after us every month.
Im not sure who have the shortest memories fish or football fans.

Excellent post Luke. I agree with you 100% - before the season kicked off - the fans knew how tough it was going to be - and we've got off to a great start - I think the Malaysians will be looking to January to see where we are... Then they might have a little wallet dabble! (here's hoping!)

I stand by what I said, I was proofed right about Dave Jones you could give him all the money in the world and he would of always failed. Malky just needs a few more players and this Club will really go places. The board has money and Malky needs it now.

When you say "from the start", do you mean this season, or the Malaysians reign?

If you're saying the Malaysians reign (which I hope you're not), then forgive me for raising the issue of Jones' massive budget for last season. Hardly the epitome of financial shrewdness, I would say.

I understand 100% about our owners looking to get the club operating at a sustainable level and I'm sure we all welcome their determination to do that.

Having said that we have 24 players registered, after the loan signing of Elliott Parish, and that is the lowest number since the 2007/08 season. In the 3 seasons since our previous manager had 28 or 29 players available to him so I think it can't be unreasonable to wonder why MM is having to operate either 4 or 5 players lighter than anytime over the past 3 seasons.

Annis has said he would have liked to have seen another 3 loan players and on the basis of squad size last season i.e. 29, when we would hope the club was operating at a sustainable level, then why can't we have 27 players now available to Malky Mackay.

Seems a reasonable point to me. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

we've had 10 players in (that didn't cost the earth!) The Loans went back! the permanents came in! We now have valuable assets. This is a business as well as a sport. I'm glad that they club is being wise with their cash, and are REALLY testing what Malky can achieve..... It gives the management a challenge - and this is where alot of the team ethics and efforts is coming from! No dependancies, and no Prima Dona's mouthing off.

However, I'm not saying that we dont need a couple more players, but the club & Malky has to be wise in what they do regarding the players they bring in. We need to make sure that the current set of players aren't irratated by newcomers, the wages have to be inline with what is on show and the current personell too.

Im sure we may see a couple of players come in soon, and it may turn out as "The best things come to those who wait....."

Annis you were right about Dave Jones 100%
I agree MM needs a few more players.....But IMO only if we have the budget.

My point was thought that people seem to be now demanding more and more from the Malaysians where as everyone and i remember especially you said when they took over that all you wanted was for the club not to rely on rich owners and not have to worry about losing our club anymore like recent years.
I feel everyone is getting more and more greedy yet if they did back MM and didnt go up people would then point fingers at why the debt level is still going up (like end of last season).

For goodness' sake - tomorrow is the 1st of October - there's plenty of time, and we're already doing well. There are no teams in this division significantly better than us at the moment.

Stop being so damned negative.

Dave Jones first season was 2005/06 when the club lost 10 players , 2 less than MM has had to deal with, at the end of the previous season and that season he operated with a squad of 25 players.

That season, DJ's 1st, we finished in 11th place and having lost a similar number of players and having similar size squads is it that difficult to see the likely outcome.

If we are to get in the top 6 this season we need to get in a few loan players over the next few weeks and we also have to strengthen in the January transfer window as I'm sure teams like Leicester and West Ham will.

The board need to back Malky now because he deserves thier backing with all the hard work he's put in these first few months. So far he's done a great job, but he definitely needs a few loan players now to help us achieve top 6 this season. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
