McNaughton not so much forward play tonight 7.9
Blake Did really well I thought 7.8
Hudson a few sloppy header but glad he played 7.6
Gerard I thought he was our best defender tonight 8
Kiss love his tackles and commitment 7.8
Gunnersson pass led to goal great work rate 8.1
Cowie my favourite player 8.2
Whittingham class act as usual but poor free kicks 7.9
Miller 2 goals 8.3 man of the match for scoring twice
Mason what a find he is..8
Malky never stays still always planning and coaching 8.5

Team performance 8/10 great effort and proved a lot of people wrong tonight many of our fans were settling for a draw before kick off.

sorry but blake was no where above a 6, thought he had a poor game and it was only hidden by everyone else doing well. gunn show and marshal for MOM

I'm sorry but everytime the ball goes anywhere near Hudson I shit myself. I'm convinced he's not good enough for the level we want to and are playing at. I can't fault the effort he puts in though, he's just a liability.

When we have a full strength back four Darcy has to replace him and partner Gerrard, with Turner as back up. I thought he was superb last night.

Mason I was impressed with as well, given a run of games and a chance to really bed in he will be a real asset for us. He needs to build up a bit strength wise but the positions he occupys as well as his eye for a pass looks quality.

I liked our midfield, however I did feel we were quite happy to give them a few yards space at times, and Sotons possessions stats in the first half would probably reflect that...although as the game wore on Kiss and Gunnarsson were terrier like and grabbed hold of the game.

Great finishes from Miller, thats what hes there for - putting that ball in the back of the net.

All in all a superb performance last night, never gave up and under Malky probably never will, was a great night

I lost count the amount of times darcy gave the ball away last night. Gerrard is shocking positionally and his distribution is shit. Hudson and turner will be CB pairing. Just because Darcy and gerrard thump their chest and show passion doesnt make them good players!

correct darcy gave away easy passes and got skinned quite a few times

Its all about opinions and I based my ratings on the fact we were playing the top of the league club in a game where we had a few key players out injured,I would like to give them 10 out of ten if I am honest, that win has really given me a lot of satisfaction.

To be fair to Darcy he's a good player and he's hardly played at left-back before. Gerrard is a decent player but he needs to simplify his distribution that's all. No attempting Hollywood-style passes like his cousin anymore.

Totally agree with the point about the passion stuff though; I think it clouds many people's judgement of players like Gerrard !
