Took me to long to realise sadly. He knows his football, has top contacts and has everything you could want from a chairman except comman sense.

Actually I would add luck as well. Yes he is a lying crooked cheating bullshitter, but there again most Chairman/CEO's are.

However, Ridsdale also liked to gamble but was always out of luck at the cruical time.

I think I agree.
But he had the makings of a top chairman..... Couldn't control himself though.

i had to laugh at him telling carl he had to keep quiet over the golden ticket scam.
At the end of the day it was him and him alone as chairman who authorised and publicised the golden ticket scheme as a way to bring players in within the january transfer window when in fact we were at the time under a transfer embargo for being the subject of a winding up order by the revenue and could never have brought any players in.
He knew that every penny was going towards paying the tax bill from the day he announced the golden ticket scheme.
Im just amazed that a forum that campaigned so hard to drive him from the club would readily give him the time of day.
has everybody forgotten his bonuses he claimed even when the small welsh suppliers who had done work on the stadium went unpaid.

My favourite line in the article was:

'Caused a few financial hiccups towards the end of my reign'!!!! New definition of winding up order = financial hiccup....

How can anyone believe and write that rubbsih.

Yes of course the money did help to pay the tax bill although it still needed land around the stadium to be sold and an input of 1 million from paul guy to get us through the mire until the malaysians invested their money.
but of course the downside was that the money was the season ticket money that would have come in may/june so he had spent the clubs future income.
whilst i admit he could never come out and admit the real reason for the golden ticket scheme publicly what he did was illegal and he has to face the law the same as you or I would.
I know for a fact that he was advised against running the scheme but carried on regardless

Steve, I think it best if there's a wait and see on this. I wouldn't go stating anything as fact just yet.
