Cracking fish, were they hair rigged or soaked/soft? Used to love the Taff when I was a kid, it was not clean enough in them days for the Barbel/dace/chub. It was all roach/gudgeon then.

Do you use the hair rig in conjunction with a feeder? (and obviously keep hitting the same spot in the swim?)

Ristey where do you fish for Barbel on the Taff? I always go around Gabalfa, but blank all the time  use halibut pellets, hemp, small pellets, feeder fishing style!

When you click "Reply" look below the white text block. (below where it say's "Save Preview and Submit! next to options is an "Upload attachment"
Click that and then select the pic from your documents/pictures etc.... Sounds geekish but is so simple. Give it a go. ;)

Used to fish Mwyndy patch in the 80's, it's a old quarry & the carp were all over 12lb back the, they must be right momma's now.Hensol lake was the business back then for trout, a mate used to sell his catches in the local pub, he told me it was impossible to get caught night poaching, so i give it a go on a friday night & got caught within a hour!Had all our tackle taken off us & a visit to Cowbridge magistrates, happy days.

Cracking fish. Do you pre bait the swim??

I used to fish the Belmont stretch in matches years ago. We used to draw for the pegs in a pub above the river and walk down. (I forget the name?) More often than not it was with the Cardiff Nomads. Winter was usually sit it out for a few big Chub or hit the Bleak!

Had some nice roach and tench as well then, but not in big numbers.
